Excellent Service

When we arrive we were greeted by such friendly staff.Service was superb. Such Filipino hospitality was reflected through their sincere and friendly service.Special mention to Ryan (Bell Service Capt) and Renlo for their dedication and genuine hospitality.The rest of the staff were superb and their service was above par.

Nothing out of the ordinary

If you are in Cebu for leisure, then Marriott might not be the best location. Its located in the center, but the good beaches are 30 minutes away in taxi. Only advantage you get while staying in Marriott is Ayala Mall. They are next doors, its a couple minutes walk. One other thing, during night the hotel has no much things to offer. Accept for the pool bar, which closes at 11:30PM and has the worst taste in music.

Great location - fine hotel

The location, with covered walkways to the Ayala Center, is excellent. Have stayed here several times in the past, and the service, buffet breakfast, and room facilities are as good as ever. Plenty local transport options also close by. In Cebu, you can’t beat this hotel/location combination.

Huge number of fantastic eating places on your doorstep in the extended Ayala Center. Particular favorites are the Food Court (large budget-price selections) and any of the Thai restaurants along the outside Terraces.

Hotel Is Conveniently Located

One thing I like about this hotel is the location. It is well located with restaurants and shopping mall only minutes away.

A nice hotel, but expensive after you arrive!

The hotel is very nice, just as clean and comfortable as a US Marriott. It’s location right next to the Ayala shopping centre is extremely convenient. The room price is extremely reasonable for the quality of the hotel. BUT everything is expensive after you arrive, including meals and drinks, but particularly internet access - the most expensive I’ve come across in the Ph - maybe anywhere!

Ayala Mall - adjoining the hotel - has just about everything. The Coffee Bean there has good coffee and snacks, and free wi-fi access. Starbucks doesn’t. The supermarket in the mall has a wide variety. Those on a very tight budget should remember that the mall is upscale, with appropriate pricing, so you can find cheaper meals, for example, at local shops.

not impressed

The Air Conditioning system ( claimed to be central )was terrible !!! Temperatures in the rooms are OK, but the humidity was checked at 91 % !!!!!. that was Ok by the management, but not by me !! The cost for the breakfast buffet was insulting.

Great Hotel In a Wonderful Location

I stayed there for 5 nights, and enjoyed every moment of the Hotel. The Bedding and the new design of the cafe is absolutely wonderful. Service was always given with a smile, and my wife and I always felt comfortable. But if had to give some advice I would share three tips: 1. tip passing... on your arrival, the gentleman who takes ur bags from the taxi will only go as far as the checkin desk, then another person takes your bags to the room. I only tipped the person who took the bags to the room giving them the immediate understanding that I wont be tipping multiple people for 1 service. I tip for my bags to be transferred from the taxi to my room. 2. The Minibar Hustle... I open the mini bar and drink one of 3 waters. But the water is not replaced, so the next person who counts the items two days later assumes another water/beer/soda/peanuts has been consumed. If this happens, inform the front desk that the mini bar hasnt been replenished. 3.Breakfast buffet... for an extra fee, breakfast for two is included. The package I purchased stated that i can order from my room, or enjoy the breakfast buffet. Well you will be charged if you order from your room, and the breakfast buffet is 10 times better, so wakeup, enjoy the free coffee in the room, and then take the short walk to the buffet. You wont regret it. Follow those tips and you will have a 5 star experience.

Try the various dining areas in the Ayala Center. Its virtually attached to the hotel. Try looking at the menus displayed at the door before going in. The cafes are all lined around the beautiful garden area, so take your time and look around first before selecting. Make sure you have small bills for taxis as many do not have change for 500p bills

GREAT Hotel

This hotel had to be the safest, cleanest hotel in the city....great buffet, supurb staff, and extremely secure. The impressive Ayala Mall is right next door, and is equally safe and secure. Both venues offered live music in the evenings....very good stay here, can’t go wrong here.

Marriott Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines

I didn’t much like the strict security at the entrance (which I didn’t find in any other hotel I stayed in), but that’s the ONLY criticism. Staying at the Marriott couldn’t have been better. Excellent in every way.

The ’package deal’ to ’The Tops’ followed by a ’Continental meal’ was a disaster. The Tops was good - worth seeing the sunset and the city change from daylight to night lights. But the meal at a good restaurant was certainly not "Continental" and we were made to feel like 3rd class citizens.

Best Stay in Cebu for business/pleasure trip.

Clean, conveneient and secure hotel adjacent to mall with everything you may need or desire. Pefect jumping off point to explore surounding area once buiness is completed, or sit back a poolside and enjoy music and barbeque and a coctail.

Very nice hotel..

Very nice hotel get service and bed very confortable. Don’t waste time watching TV one english channel..CNN..lol. But they nickel and dime you to death charge for the bar in room charge for in room inernet and charge for ALL phone calls. The people that clean room are unbelieveably great and do a great job.. Give them a tip the first day and you will have a very clean room and alot of extras to go with it. didn’t eat at the hotel to high but the mall is right there and they have a bunch of good places to eat at very good prices. But over all will use again..

Great place to stay in Cebu, near Business Park and Mall

The holtel services were great,and the customer service was fantastic. The hotel is very convient. It’s near the business park and the heart of cebu. Private services such as dry cleaning,massages are very expensive,so use the local shops in the mall behind the hotel. Customer service is very good,They overcharged me for washing my clothes and I protested it and they took 15% off my bill. They will work with you. Also keep in mind security is tight. You will be scaned,and your bags checked each time you visit the hotel,malls,banks,stores etc..........

Don’t wash your clothes or dry clean your clothes in the hotel.they will overcharge you. There are tons of shops around the hotel and a very modern mall,you can shop at the sumpermarket and save a lot of money. Also you can hire a taxi driver to shuttle you all around Cebu. The charge about 18 U.S. a day. Keep in mind if you are in the Philippines and you are a foreigner you won’t be charged local rates so if you know a Philippino you are in luck.

We loved it

The hotel is in a nice part of Cebu (we dont know Cebu well but it had to be in a nice part). Close to shopping and nice restaurants. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is not as nice as some hotels, but what the heck, cant expect Shangrila equivalence for the price of a Marriot.

Hotel room was very clean and staff was helpful in packaging a guitar for shipment to Hawaii so as to protect it from damage during transit.

Great Location

This hotel was very comforatble to stay in and was a nice location. It is directly next to one of the nicest malls called the Ayala Mall. A very short walk and you are surround by wonderful shops of all types. The mall also has a multiple screen theatre for catching a movie and offers numerous eating venues at reasonable prices should you wish to escape the more pricey hotel offerings. The hotel itself has a pool and gym available. The gym which also included a sauna was very well equiped. The pool was smalled than expected but was cozy and included a bar outside next to the pool itself. There is nightly entertainment in the lounge area adjacent to the lobby areas. The cafe offered a wonderful morning breakfast buffet and had various themed menu offerings on various week nights. The satff was very friendly and always willing to assist with every need of the guest. I happed to be in Cebu when a Typhoon came over the city and this hotel was a safe haven and presented all the comforts needed while guest needed shelter during the storms passing. It is a wonderful location and comforatble place to stay while visiting Cebu.

I found that by tipping your housekeeper you may enjoy a few extra perks. Each room comes with two complimentary bottles of water however once I left a small tip I often found up to 6 or seven bottles left for me as well as extra towels.

The Maid service could be a little more cleaner such as wiping bedstand tables off and tothpaste in the bathroom.

I was a little taken back when i was asked to make two deposits to cover extras. I was told by check-in at time of checkin that i was to receive breakfast as part of room. After two mornings i was asked to deposit extra mmoney to cover cost of meals. These prices were 5 times the outside prices and there were charges for everything including water. you need to clarify what you are charging for on check-in not during stay

Had a great time staying at the Marriott/Cebu City...Phillipine staff was excellent and genuinely caring...Hotel extremely well maintained...Rooms very comfortable...the breakfast and dinner buffett was excellent...Hotel 5 minute walk from Ayala indoor Mall...Home away from home...
