Alright...
The hotel was very close to the Navy Base. The rooms were alright. Fair for the price and the fact that we werent in them very often. There were several restaurants within walking distance, such as McDonalds and a nice place called Flanagans. Unfortunately, I could hear the people in the lobby all night long as our room was close to it...we didnt have a phone in our room either and it was very frustrating that we had to check out an iron and ironing board

Filthy, run-down Hotel
The hotel is in North Chicago a little more than a mile from the Naval Station. The hotel is dirty. The cleanest area I saw was the little eating area, though that was debatable. The clerks were not very friendly, the lobby was filled with cigarette smoke from the girl smoking in the back room. A TV was blaring in the background at the front desk. The clerk was poorly dressed. The printer was out of toner and she kept shaking the toner cartridge to get more ink out of it while I waited. She initially sent me upstairs, down a filthy, ill-lit corridor to a room which reeked of cigarettes. I immediately called down and refused the room and asked for another one which was non smoking. I promptly received another room which was old and drab, though it smelled better. The locks were old and barely worked. The bathroom ceiling was rusted on the seams, there was mold on the shower curtain. The bed was hard and I slept on top in my clothes because I didnt want to get into the bed. The owner should gut the place and refurbish everything. The clerks had no name tags and didnt offer any help with anything unless I asked - several times, with the exception of one nice girl I met on the day I left. No name tag.
Traveler's tip

Ive stayed at better
First time traveling to Chicago, but probably would stay there again. Smoking and Non-Smoking rooms were side by side so if you like sleeping in a box of cigarettes then you will be home. The only two positive things about the room was the price and location. The employees were nice and pleasant to deal with also. Slightly below average when you rate price, location, and quality.
