beautiful place, if only theyd turn the lights off
This was a summer trip for us, and there is no air conditioning in the hotel. By itself thats not a problem, as even in mid-July the evening temperatures were lovely. But one wanted to leave the window open for ventilation, and the hotel has a couple dozen VERY bright lights in front that serve no other purpose than to light up front-facing rooms like noon, and to obliterate what should be a gorgeous view of the night stars. Drawing the light-blocking curtains blocked the evening breeze as well. What a disappointment!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel, especially if youre there in the summer and want to leave a window open. Its a pleasant walk into town; follow the signs for Les Halles to pick up food for a lovely picnic.
