Very bad experience

This is the first bad hotel review I’ve ever had to write. We went up to Austin and just needed a clean room to stay in--nothing fancy, just a motel. We arrived at 10 pm and had to call the main office from an outside hallway. The lady let us in, but said she was closing for the night (earlier they made no mention of hotel hours when we called about arriving late). She seemed very erratic, but was nice overall. When we walked into our room, it had clearly not been cleaned. There were dirty dishes in the sink, an unmade bed, and towels on the bathroom floor. We went back downstairs to complain, but she had locked up and apparently left for the evening. The next morning, we complained but were told to call back the next day on Monday. Overall, the room would have been fine had it been cleaned beforehand. We should have paid the extra ten dollars for another hotel in the area!!!

Inexpensive, you get what you pay for!

We did not expect 4 star luxury for the price we paid, we just wanted the cheapest please for 1 night in a not too scary area. Plus we needed a room that was pet-friendly--this is the main reason we stayed here. The hotel staff was very nice, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lady who checked us in was very friendly and upbeat. The young man there offered to help us with our bags even though he was off the clock. Everything worked in the room, property seemed well kept and we saw a patrol car in the parking lot twice which lent to a feeling of security and hopefully not a bad omen! My only complaint is that the room did not seem 100% clean. There was an old bar of soap left at the top of the shower ledge-gross! And a few marks on the wall and door from dirt or who knows what. So, other than the lack of cleanliness, the room was passable for the cheapest price I found on any travel website and I would stay there again.
