Excellent!!

I’m married and have 2 young kids. We are currently living in Norfolk, VA and we took a vacation to Santa Barbara to visit my brother and his family. We could not have asked for a better location at such an affordable rate!! In the middle down town Santa Barbara where there is plenty of shopping (for the misses) and restaurants (for me) to experience. A couple of nights my niece watched the kids and my wife and I were able to have some drinks on the strip.

When planning things to do in Santa Barbara I would not include going to the beach as one of them. As kid growing up in Santa Barbara I knew that already but my wife had to see for herself. The water is frigid cold and the sand is course and dingy looking. For kids there is plenty of parks in the area and you could always take then to the SB zoo.

Good location...

I’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times and I’ve been pretty happy with the service overall. The room is a little small, but can’t really beat the price compare to some hotels in the same area. The hotel is right around the corner of state st. & haley, you can’t get any closer to downtown than that! Restaurants, bars, and the beach is just a walk away. I didn’t have issues walking around in the evening and meeting friends for a drink and back to the hotel.

Traveler's tip

1. shop around before you go, there are other hotels near downtown that’s price friendly 2. If you have little time to spend in this town, walk around downtown, the beach, plan a nice outdoor lunch by the sterns warf. 3. Visit the museum and the mission 4. Make a dinner reservation if you plan to dine at a nice restaurant. 5. There are many good bars and clubs,if there’s a long line move on to the next one

Recommended but nor for all...

Hotel is cute, in a great location, is clean, has somewhat convenenient parking, has nicely appointed rooms and comfy beds, and sort-of friendly staff. A coule of weak points: The walls are thin and our neighbor knocked on the wall at 10:00pm when he heard me and my sister talking. Yes, simply talking. Front desk did not pick up two times when we tried to reach them during business hours. Wireless internet did not work. The front desk told me to call a tech support line from my room. That took a long time and the problem was not resolved. I went to the lobby and used their free computer. While I was on their computer, the front desk clerk called tech support and got the problem fixed, ten minutes before my check out.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Intermittent wireless internet, but free computer in lobby with a 15 minute limit. Paper thin walls.
