Satisfied, but with reservations
We give the hotel fairly high marks across the board, but the quality of the various eating places deserves comment - thus our mark for ’Quality of hotel service’. There is one menu for the downstairs bar, the second floor Minerva Cafe, and room service - with limited choices. (We did not take a meal at the larger restaurant on the second floor). We ordered two items in the Minerva Cafe - a chicken meal with noodles, and baked lasagna. The chicken was horrendous, and the baked lasagna beyond horrendous. Both appeared to have been re-heated. While the breakfast buffet was excellent, we would suggest taking other meals elsewhere. Quality of service of hotel personnel ranged from excellent to satisfactory.

Great hotel, very relaxing, good food. Location is slightly off HCM city center.

beds are really hard
If you prefer really hard beds, this hotel is for you, since most other things are good or great. However, beds are very hard and that may create uncomfortable experience. After first night, they added padding on our bed (there was already one layer of padding). We had to ask twice for that, though.

Quiet Luxury Oasis
This property is very well appointed, multi-lingual staff, quiet and close to many cultural and shopping activities. The restaurants are outstanding and have interesteing events like "Chesse" tastings every week end. Staff members take an interest in making your stay for business or pleasure memorable.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
HCM City probably has over 1000 motor bikes per car, so it does take a while to get places. Always have a map of where you’re going and double check with the doorman. Walking in the downtown or central city area was "just like Broadway at night" with street vendors persistent but polite. If you purchase anything sized at the Ben Thanh market (must visit), open it and make sure it’s correct. Clothing tags like XL are not always accurate. HCM reminded me of Kowloon and Bangkok 25 years ago.

lovely staff and rooms
the staff is courteous and friendly. never once did someone walk by without a greeting. each night you get a bedtime treat like financiers or chocolates. the rooftop pool alone is worth stay here for. two things that need work are the blowdryers and the spa services. the pedicure does not come with a foot massage and the brazilian wax was not effecient.

Nice and quite in middle Saigon
Clean room with friendly staff. book room thru expedia save more money then book direct with hotel.

Beautiful room, great service, good location
We were very happy with our stay here. I think the title above says it all. Sure it costs more but it’s a pleasure to have some luxury on a vacation. :-) Check out the rooftop pool too either for a swim or the view.

Saigon Sofitel
I found the hotel to be very comfortable and quiet. I would stay here again. The rooftop swimming pool was a real bonus, and the constant air movement helped with 38C weather.
