OK, but not great

The pros: this hotel is new and well located. The rooms are large by European standards, there is 24-hr room service, and the staff are very responsive. The cons: the beds are hard (even to those of us who like firm mattresses), the towels are thin, the cost for internet service in the room is high (6 euros for one hour--but free internet is available in the lobby), the cost to use the fitness center is high, and most oddly, the rooms don’t contain irons or ironing boards, nor will the hotel provide them on request. We were told this was for "security reasons." I’m not sure even McGiver could damage a hotel with an iron. I’d stay there again, but it could ahve been such a nicer experience...

Traveler's tip on dining

Try dinner at Sacramento. The food is amazing, the decor interesting, and the service the best we experienced during our entire time in Lisbon

Perfectly priced 5 star hotel

Upon arrival, we quickly noticed all of the images on their website. The check-in was smooth and all our arrangements via Expedia were in order. The bell staff were friendly and were available to us however we didn’t take them up on their polite and sincere offer. The elevator bank has four lifts and all seem brand new. Once we arrived in our standard room, it seemed much nicer than the virtual tour room and I was suprised on how big it was. It was perfect, a nice break from European hotels. We interfaced occasionally with staff throughout our stay. A postcard was mailed on our behalf by one of the reservation specialists as well as many of our questions regarding tours and things to do. Spent 1 night at the hotel bar. I was so impressed, I filled out a survey card (something I never do). Check out was quick, easy and their were no suprises. Lastly, Location. Nice 10 minute walk to everywhere in Lisbon with shopping accross the street. I Highly recommend. I am a active early 40 year old with wife on vacation w/o kids and am a seasoned domestic and international traveler.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

I would recommend for business or leisure.

very good, but not great hotel

slight odor in hallway. Unable to control air temperature in room utilizing control. Food service good, but not great and expensive. No sundries available in Hotel, must cross the street to the shopping center. Room was good size, comfortable and clean. Window opens slightly. Location for leasure travel is good for Lisbon.
