Mixed bag
The hotel staff are friendly, willing to help, and most of them speak English, which was great for me because I don’t speak French. The restaurant has really good food and plenty of bottled water. Drawbacks: no washcloths in the bathroom (take your own), roach in the bathroom, and (worst) someone tried to enter my room one afternoon without knocking. Fortunately I had thrown the bar lock. When they hit that restriction they slammed the door and ran. I informed the hotel staff but received no response or apology. As a woman traveling alone, this was a BIG issue. But this is probably the best hotel you’re going to find in Dakar. The room safe alone is worth the price.

Not Impressed
the front desk staff is the least competent reception staff I have ever encountered in an upper tier hotel only redeeming fact is that hotel provides free internet in room and wifi in common areas
