Nice stay
This hotel is quite nice for the money. Very helpful staff. It’s about a 10 minute walk from King’s Cross. Terrific bed and comforter, flat screen TV. Had to pay for Internet, though, and it wasn’t wireless. I had to ask the front desk for a CAT-V cable and they brought one up immediately. The hallways of the hotel look a little antiquated, but overall, an excellent stay for the price.

Beautiful location to stay! Recommend
This hotel is right on Rushcutter’s Bay/Park and the location is beautiful. We were there in August (end of their winter) and the weather was wonderful. Only rained one day and the lightning that night was a spectacular sight to behold. There are a number of restaurants within one mile of the hotel. We found Hi Thai Cuisine right next door to the Vibe and enjoyed their lunch special (noon until three). There was enough for two to eat and not still be hungry. Up the road there are two grocery/food stores/malls. Highly recommend the bakery in the furthest one- Vibe is near King’s Cross, but enough away from it nightlife doesn’t bother you. Walking in the daytime is safe enough. Many of the guided tours will pick you up at the Vibe and the hotel staff will call and arrange tours/pickups as needed. The Vibe staff is very helpful and polite. Be sure to ask them to clarify their dinner specials before you go to their restaurant. They can be misleading. Our room was always nicely kept- The only complaint I have is that my bed mattress had springs coming through which made it uncomfortable to sleep on my side. The other twin bed in the room was fine. I didn’t ask them to switch mattresses for me, but I am sure they would have. We saw them switch a queen mattress out for someone. I would definitely stay there again. Be aware that it is not located in downtown Sydney (not city center), but there are buses that run and the train station is right up the road.
Traveler's tip
Make sure you have the right adaptor and wattage on anything you bring with you. I blew a fuse and they fixed it within an hour. Used the City Hop On- Hop Off bus (red bus with outside seating- not other company with only inside seating. Can catch in King’s Cross- 5 min. walk from Vibe- Would suggest you get the two day pass. Find Market City Shopping area (in Chinatown)- on Science Museum stop- for cheap souvenirs and ambiance (bottom floor).

Happy
Nice hotel right on a waterfront park with extremely easy access to transportation - the bus/shuttle from the central part of Sydney (which is about 1-1.5 miles away) stops literally 50 feet from the hotel front door, and the bus going the other direction is one short block away. This made getting around extremely easy if I didn’t feel like walking. The hotel has a cool restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, and great heated rooftop pool with a view of the bay. There is a full service grocery store and lots of shops, clubs and restaurants just a few blocks west in Kings Cross. A convenience store for the essentials is a couple doors down from the hotel. East is a quiet residential neighborhood and the park. Most major Sydney attractions can be accessed with 5 minutes (via bus/taxi) to 30 minutes (walking). The hotel was a very comfortable base located just a little east of the CBD, featuring streamlined and tastefully decorated rooms with all the normal amenities you would expect. It served as a great home away from home during my time in Sydney. I would definitely stay here again.
Traveler's tip
As a single woman traveling alone, I felt VERY safe here. The elevators are tied to your room key, so you can only choose the elevator button for the floor you are staying on. Someone without a room key would not be able to access guest floors.
