Small room
We stayed on a four day vacation. The hotel was old with a Victoria feel. It was clean but needs refreshing. Our room was tiny. We had about 1.5 feet on each side of the bed and maybe 2 feet at the base from walls or furniture. You can do little in this room other than use the bed and toilet. If you are not there to spend time in the room it will be fine. If you plan to spend any time in your hotel room, find a larger room. The hotel lobby was nice and it had a lounge for about 6 people to sit (few did). There were two computers to rent (I think one pound for 10 mins). The restaurant was decent (10 tables - actual name if I remember right). The hotel was in a good location and had a small pub attached. The train station was about half a block away and that was very convenient. Hyde Park was a close walk. A Catholic Church was across the street. Museums and Imperial College were all within a short walking distance. Because of the room size, I rated it low. All else is fine.

Very nice but wont stay there again
Beautiful and clean. The ONLY thing that concerns me is that my room was slanted. Being that many of the buildings in London are hundreds of years old, this made me very nervous. The staff is great and very helpful.
Traveler's tip on shopping
Harrods is within walking distance.

Rydges a dump with a pretty Lobby
What a surprise to find that the rooms did not reflex the lobby which was painted in gold and white. The rooms however were a whole other story. The single is a closet with a bed. The large room (twin) was dark and faced a walk. Maybe that is what they gave me? I would never stay at this hotel again. The staff were ok. The food was bad. A coke was not cheap.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Never stay at his hotel. There are so many nice hotels in London. The best way around London on one of their many buses. #74 took me from South Kensingon to Oxford circle where you can find the best shopping if you are on a budget. The #25 bus will take you to Saint Pauls Cathedral ....what a lovely Cathedral. You must get there by 5pm to enjoy some time there. It closes at 6pm.
