Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale Old Town

Nice hotel

This Marriott Hotel was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were great and the staff was pleasant.

Good Value

Booked a last minute trip to Scottsdale on business and found the CY Marriott in Old Town to be a good hotel. Located between Tempe and Scottsdale (just on the scottsdale side) you’re a 5 minute cab ride ($8-$10) from the shopping district, downtown nightlife, and local attractions. Parking is easy to find, small pool area, rooms are typical of a CY Marriott. Staff needs to be a bit more friendly, not proactive, more reactive. Denny’s is right next to the Marriott for breakfast and a couple other local area restaurants near the hotel. They serve cookies in the evening and wonderful flavored water, one day it was mixed with fresh strawberries, another with lemon, however the fruit flavor was mild and not overbearing. Housekeeping does not clean up your room right away in the morning, sometimes made up around 1-2pm in the afternoon. I’m used to being out at 9am and back around 12 and the bed being made up.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Dennys right next door offers cheaper breakfast than Courtyard Marriott in the AM. Cabs take 10-15 mins. to get at the hotel, order early. If renting a car from the airport, GPS system needed unless familiar with the area.

Very comfortable stay

The Courtyard Marriott on North Scottsdale Road was a very comfortable, clean hotel. The staff was generally polite and professional. The room was above average in terms of cleanliness and comfort. One downside was the use of proprietary web browsers on the two PC’s available for guest use near the lobby. Because of the configuration of these computers, I was not able to use my flash drive to prepare work the next day. The hotel does offer free wireless broadband Internet service, but for this trip I chose not to travel with a laptop. So while computer service is available, I was not able to work without my own laptop. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers to the Scottsdale area who are not looking to stay in a resort.

The Courtyard by Marriott was a very pleasant place to stay and the employee’s couldn’t have been nicer. It was very clean and close to shopping and places to eat. I really enjoyed my stay and plan to return later this month and again in September. Thank You Marriott.
