Very disatisfied!

Heat/AC was broken, door lock key card thing broke-took about 45 minutes to fix, no microwave, no fridge, slow service, tricky pricing, can not walk to anything-secluded...

We had a very pleasant stay. The Hilton was was very clean and modern. The staff was friendly and accomadating. Certainly would stay there again.

Great mix of comfort and location

We are frequent customers at this hotel. We like the location due to its proximity to the airports, the Mall of America, and the light rail for trips downtown. The hotel has always been clean, comfortable, and quiet. This last stay we upgraded and got a room on the top floor, that was really quiet. We are planning our next trip and it will include a stay at the Hilton

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The added room fee which includes breakfast each morning and a reception with cocktails and snacks each evening is a great value. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Ask for a room on the 12th floor as that is where the food and drink is served.

Airport shuttle is a problem. Telephone system too.

Overall a good hotel. However, their airport shuttle is a problem in that when one arrives in the transportation area, there is no sign displayed as to how one should call for the shuttle. (Other area hotels participate in a special telephone system.) Also, they have installed a new phone system that is absolutely terrible, so that when I eventually called them for the shuttle it took three tries just to get through. Still, overall a good place to stay if you can these flaws. (I left a voice message with these concerns to the hotel manager, but he never got in contact with me ... makes me wonder whether he really cares ...)

Great room. Very comfy beds and pillows. Close to the Mall.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Hilton, Customer Service, Cleanliness, Executive Lounge everything was nice. This was the last trip for my husband and I until summer2010 because of his deployment, so the last thing we wanted to worry about was the hotel. We felt comfortable like we were at home. The bathroom was a little smaller than we are use to but other than that, it was great.

My husband and I love to jump on public transportation and get "lost" in the city. We don’t have to pay for parking or trying to look and drive at the same time. Go exploring it’s more to see than the Mall of America.

Very enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed out stay at the Hilton. The only problem was I reserved three rooms for family and they were not together. Also the ice machine was broken on our floor. The rooms were comfortable and very nice beds, the price was afforable and a great location.

If you are a tired traveler like I was, you would enjoy your dinner inside the hotel. Take advatnage of several choices.

I stay in a lot of 3 stars, this is my favorite. Best bed, best linen, great room. Executive Lounge was fantastic.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Ikea is a short walk away, fun to look around. Across the street is a wildlife preserve. Great walking.

Great choice close to MOA

We spent 3 nights here with our 4-year-old with the main purpose of visiting Nickelodeon Universe at the MOA. The hotel was a great choice--free shuttle from/to the airport and from/to the mall, across the street from the nature preserve, courteous staff, clean rooms, nice pool. We also appreciated the availability of cold water, juice, milk, etc. at the Executive Lounge. Definitely worth the extra $$ to get access to this amenity, especially if you’re traveling with children.

Breakfast

We paid for breakfast with our room and it was not worth the extra cash. The person serving was totally overworked and they were short on food, plates, cups and mugs. I went to my room to get a mug just to have coffee. I left feeling hungry. There were eggs, but no bacon. Lots of soda, but that isn’t really what I want at breakfast. The hotel itself was nice, but the breakfast wasn’t worth the extra.

Mostly great!

It was difficult to figure out how to drive to the hotel. It wasn’t as obvious as it seemed. Had to ask for soap replacement after two days. I felt like soap was being rationed. I donate my toiletries to a project our Rotary club is doing for people visiting our children’s hospital who have unplanned, extended stays. Outside of that, the service was great and I enjoyed my visit.

Gross room - confused staff - hope you enjoy pubic hairs in your bed

When we first got there we thought it was going to be nice, and it looked nice from the outside. My wife and I were traveling with my niece and her friend (both 15) and we were only there for one night. We had asked for and were confirmed for adjoining rooms so we could keep tabs on the girls. When we got there they said they only had one room ready but said the other would be ready soon and we could move into it after we were done shopping at the Mall of America. Our rooms were prepaid for so I wasn’t worried. When we got back, we found that they gave away the other adjoining room that girls were supposed to stay in. At first they wanted to put them 8 floors away from us. After I got mad they put them in a room on the same floor, but down a couple hallways. I was not at all happy about that. The room they put the girls in was dumpy. It had drill holes in the walls and bathroom door. Then when my wife and I got ready for bed, we pulled back the covers and found the bed full of PUBIC HAIRS!!! I was extremely gross. Obviously the maids just make the bed and don’t change the bedding between guests. They said they would send a maid up to change it and after a half hour she showed up and took another half hour to change it. We finally got to bed around 1 in the morning. I talked to the same desk clerk in the morning that booked up in and told him all the problems. All he could say was "Really, that shouldn’t have happened". Yeah, no kidding.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Don’t bother with the shuttle. While at the mall I locked my keys in the car (my fault), so I told my wife and the girls to keep shopping and I’ll take the shuttle to back to hotel and back and I’ll be back in a half hour. It’s only 2 miles away. After waiting for almost two hours I decided to just take a cab back and forth. Their shuttle is a joke.

Quick In & Out

Clean, convenient and excellent service. Food was great in hotel restaurant. Convenient courtesy van to airport - good for quick in and quick out.

Very helpful staff

The staff was very helpful in showing us how to get around. They have excellent shuttle service to both the airport and mall, although the one for the mall gets very full very fast. We got plenty of maps to help guide us around as well.

Wonderful hotel, excellent service, well maintained

We stayed (with kids) on the concierge floor, and it was so helpful to have an apple or cookie available at any hour. The pool is beautiful, and the service was so friendly. It was the perfect place to stay for a week.

we’d stay here again

the staff are very different at this hotel. Some are over the top nice and others are just plain rude. The pool area is very nice and the rooms are quite comfortable.

Traveler's tip on dining

definately check out "The Melting Pot" it’s a fondue restaurant downtown. the service is wonderful and the food is even better! its quite expensive, but the dining experience is worth it!!

Very good for the price

For the price I paid, it was worth it. Make sure you have a car as it’s not well connected to the Twin Cities, except the Mall of America to which there are free convenient shuttles.

Not What We Expected

This was our first stay at the Hilton, and we were not impressed. The sheets on our bed had stains on them, we had to ask for them to be changed, disgusting!! There was spiderwebs hanging in various places all over the hotel, and in our bathroom, there was just a big hole in the ceiling for where the sprinkler head was, cleanliness and upkeep of this hotel was definately lacking. Our disapointed continued when we visited the lounge and restaurant. The lounge has a "cocktail time" but no drink specials?? My wife just asked for a Coke, and I said I will have bourbon and Coke, and I couldnt even taste the bourbon.... when I mentioned to the bartender it was really weak, could I have another shot of bourbon, he said, oh, you wanted bourbon in yours?? The breakfast buffet is also a joke! Not at all what it is advertised as. You can get the same thing for free at other hotels that they charged you for!

One bad thing

This hotel offers web TV, which if you are not use to this option can be somewhat confusing. While I napped after the long drive, my mother and son managed to rack up $20 worth of fees on the TV just trying access the regular channels. When we questioned the front desk about the fees, we were told we couldn’t prove not using the web. I was not impressed with that answer, they should be able to track the usage time.

Bring food to this hotel!!! There aren’t any close gas stations, or convienience stores. And the room service is too expensive for feeding kids.

Not Impressed

When we checked in, we had some vehicle problems, and the clerk told us he would have his manager call our room to give us some contact numbers to help us out. We never received a call, and found the information on our own. The first morning we were there, the hot water ran out when we showered. The hotel desk stated that a large group of youth were staying and had used up the hot water. They were fixing it for the next day. This is unacceptable in my opinion. Hotels should be prepared for their guests water usage.
