South Delhi is the area south of Connaught Place and Rajpath. This area has great historical and cultural importance. Hauz Khas, a shopper's paradise, is also home to historical monuments such as a madarsa (college), tombs, and a mosque built by Firoz Shah Tughluq, a ruler of the Tughlaq Dynasty. Visitors find art galleries and numerous shops selling furniture, clothes, and jewellery. Dilli Haat, sited opposite INA market, is yet another fashionable shopping arcade displaying the richness of Indian culture with stalls set up by craftsmen selling a reasonably-priced range of handicrafts and fabrics.
