Had a great time
My son is a freshman at the University of Dayton and we needed a place to stay while we were moving him into the dorm on August 20, 2009 We stayed at the Doubletree hotel for three nights and were very pleased with the general condition of the hotel. Everything seemed to be well maintained. We had a problem with a light in the bathroom I called the front desk and it was taken care of within 10 minutes. I was traveling with my adult daughter and young son and we loved the pool and work out room. We felt the prices in Crickets Lounge and the Polo Grille were quite high, so we choose to eat out around town, there were many choices close by the hotel and the valet staff were quite helpful with directions and suggestions. I would highly recommend this hotel. We loved the warm cookies!

Relaxing Break
Me and my husband stopped here on our trip to Dayton. We need a couple of days of relaxation. Our Suite on second floor was big, comfortable, spotlessly clean with beautifully made clean and comfortable, plush beds and spreads. It had microwave, fridge, coffee maker and other necessary amenities which were amazing. Bath products were Neutrogena. The pool was on seventh floor, the sliding doors in lobby opened to the indoor heated pool which had a beautiful downtown view. We found the place pleasantly peaceful. We enjoyed the cookie given at front desk. They also had fully stacked ref in the main lobby in case you wanted snacks. The restaurant had some great food. Breakfast had variety of food and gave us great start each day. We were delighted that we chose to stay in Doubletree dayton Downtown and would certainly go back if in this area again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Pool area is peaceful and relaxing. Do not miss the great view of downtown from the pool.

Would Not Go Back
After an extremely long day, I arrived at the Doubletree shortly before midnight. The hotel was inadequately lit and the signage was poor, so it was very difficult to see from the street. The surrounding area was adjacent to some kind of bus depot and did not seem particularly safe. There was no valet (or anyone else to help me with my bags, take my car, open the door, whatever) on duty. When I went into the lobby, there was one guy at the desk and he was busy helping another guest. Eventually, some other guy in street clothes emerged. After looking me up and down and otherwise being creepy, he identified himself as "security," which made it even creepier. Although the hotel seemed to be largely empty (admittedly, it was late and it is possible that it was close to full occupancy), I was assigned to a room at the farthest end of the hotel, and no one offered (at any time during my stay) to help me with my bags. The room was relatively clean and the bed/bedding were fine. However, the decor was otherwise outdated and a little shabby, the TV was tiny, the remote control didnt work, and the late night room service options were very limited.
