good location, nice hotel

it was a really decently priced hotel. it had a nice staff and a good complimentary breakfast every morning with eggs, meat, pastries, fruit, breads, etc. it was centrally located, which made it very convenient to experience the city and there were also nearby buses took us to the vatican, colesseum, and other main sites we went to. it was clean and comfortable. there was a computer that could be used to access the internet for an hourly internet rate or wireless in the room.

Great Location, Great Breakfast, Friendly Staff

The hotel is around the corner from Trevi fountain and walking distance to everything. The best location for shopping and to the monuments. The rooms were a bit outdated, but clean, and room staff was friendly and attentive. The front reception was very helpful on restaurant locations and general mapping questions. Breakfast was more than expected and at great times.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Consider taking the shuttle buses that are located near the Termi Station to go to the airports. They are a lot cheaper than taxi or hire a car service. Wish we had known this prior.

Great location, but quality not so good

Location of the hotel is great- steps away from the beautiful Trevi fountain and shopping/gelato places. It is also close to a supermarket where you can get a bottle of soda for 1 euro (it costs 5 in restaurants). The hotel is about 4 blocks away from the Barbarini metro...if you walk a few more blocks you’ll arrive at the Spanish Steps/Spagna. Other pluses include the breakfast, which is great, and internet service in the lobby. The staff is fairly helpful. On the downside, the first room I stayed in had ants :-( The second room I was moved to didn’t, but it was clearly a downgrade...the mattress was so flimsy that I ended up having back issues at the end of the trip (but it was better than having ants in the room!). Ask for a room at the back of the hotel- it is really noisy in the front at night.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

-- There are a few places off of Piazza Navona including a bakery that is really reasonable. -- Try to find supermarkets and stock up on soda, b/c it is tremendously expensive in Italy. Or buy soda once you pass through security at your US airport. -- Exchange as much money at your US local bank b/c the exchange rate + fees are ridiculous, period.
