The best hotel in Lima.
The hotel may be quiet since not alot of people can afford to stay there, but it really is worth the money. Peru is the 2nd most impoverished country in South America (2nd only to Bolivia) and there are few decent hotels for 5-star travelers. The service was great. The rooms were nice. They even had a really nice pool and gym. The best part was the hotel’s relationship with Hertz. Instead of shoving you in a local taxi to get around, there was a Hertz employee in a suit and a new economy car to take you anywhere you want for just a little more than a local cab. You could then call the driver’s cell phone number and he’ll be there to pick you up later as well. It felt much safer traveling around like that.

Overall, the food in Peru is GREAT, but don’t expect American-speed service. Everyone is very nice, but slow slow slow. So be sure to budget your time and mentality when you dine.
