The best hotel in Lima.
The hotel may be quiet since not alot of people can afford to stay there, but it really is worth the money. Peru is the 2nd most impoverished country in South America (2nd only to Bolivia) and there are few decent hotels for 5-star travelers. The service was great. The rooms were nice. They even had a really nice pool and gym. The best part was the hotels relationship with Hertz. Instead of shoving you in a local taxi to get around, there was a Hertz employee in a suit and a new economy car to take you anywhere you want for just a little more than a local cab. You could then call the drivers cell phone number and hell be there to pick you up later as well. It felt much safer traveling around like that.
Traveler's tip on dining
Overall, the food in Peru is GREAT, but dont expect American-speed service. Everyone is very nice, but slow slow slow. So be sure to budget your time and mentality when you dine.
