Good location, friendly staff, clean rooms
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small compared to US hotel rooms, but still comfortable. Short walking distance to good restaurants. A very scenic 10-15 minute walk to the other side of the river and the old Lyon (lots of shopping, eating, scenery). Would stay here again when in Lyon.
Traveler's tip on dining
The staff recommended an excellent restaurant a block away, with outdoor dining, called "Le Rive Gauche" I believe. Tasty food, superb service, and reasonably priced.

Roosevelt/Lyon late June 2009
When I checked in the gentlemen who assisted was pleasant. During my stay the staff was mostly indifferent/not interested in my comfort or well-being. I speak perfectly fine French but they were just not friendly. As I checked out the young lady was gracious, too bad not while I was there. I was in Lyon for food reviews and restaurant experiences which were great, especially Rive Gauche and Le Theodore. The city is pretty and really not where most Americans would venture, many were waiting to hear my feedback, I am sorry that it is not more positive. Mixed reviews, JC in NJ
Traveler's tip on dining
Definitely a great French city for cuisine, just be careful where you stay!

The Roosevelt in Lyon
A nice hotel in the central district of Lyon. This hotel has recently been refurbished. The room was comfortable with a very nice bathroom. All new furnishings, with fresh paint and decore. The breakfast was continetial and not included in the room rate. Several interesting restaurants and Bouchons near by. Parking is on the street, and can be difficult.
