We didnt want to leave the block
We stayed 6 nights at Raffles in October 2009 for our friends wedding. Other than a few short shopping trips, we found need and had no real desire to leave the hotel. Great food options, unbelievable service, and everything we needed right there. The butlers were very good, and were consistently looking for (and finding) ways to go beyond what was expected, even of a 5 star hotel.

Exceptional Hotel
We spent three nights in a Palm Court Suite at the Raffles. The facilities, service, and dining all met our expectations for a hotel that is reputed to be one of the finest in Asia. The atmosphere is subtle and refined, the architecture and gardens, of course, are spectacular, and the furnishings are comfortable and luxurious. All that said, we felt welcomed even though we travel with our 4 year old daughter, who is neither shy nor quiet! Dont miss the Raffles.

An experience that shoud not be missed
The original British colonial type set up seems to have kept intact. The suite room is spacious with two king beds, big enough for our couple and a teenage child. Bath room is also huge but I prefer to have a bigger dinning area instead. The courtyard for resident only is awesome. We spend one afternoon there sipping wine like in our own garden. There is no water kettle in the room since hot tea / water can be served within minutes by the friendly & attentive butler (I still prefer to boil the water myself). May be the historical structure in that hotel wing, we can hear people walking on the wooden floor above (not spooky but annoying in the middle of the night). Of course, my wife loves the shopping and dinning facilities built in the hotel.
