Ok

Hotel was ok, a 30 min tram ride to the main train station which is in the middle of the city. Tram tickets cost 12.40 francs for day. Probably could have gotten a hotel closer in without needing the tram for the cost of the hotel + the tram tickets.

Superb place at a extremely reasonable price

Very near to the airport (10 min),at 4 or 5 tram stations, super reasonable price and lots of ammenities, the hotel staff was so kind and friendly, super clean and spacious rooms.

The room was large enough, but the bed was not that comfortable. Parking below the hotel can be difficult to exit when driving a manual transmission. Service in the restaurant was extremely SLOW. Not sure if I would go back if there is another choice at roughly the same price.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Take the tram from the Flughafen (airport)a to the Opfikon stop. It is $4 per person versus about $30 for a cab.

Good room for the price (during the weekend)

The rooms were clean and acceptable for the price we paid. Note room prices go up during the business week and they would not be worth the price during the week. We stayed there twice and the 2nd time we stayed, they ran out of soap. (Bar and shower gel) Having free internet is a big plus. We never ate at the hotel because the prices were very high. This is a business hotel and obviously meant to be a write-off for business people.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy an all-day tram ticket good for 24 hours to save on trips to the airport or into the city of Zurich. Otherwise it will cost you 6 francs each time you ride.

Good location to airport

Clean, easy to get cab to and from hotel to airport. No shuttle service certain times of year. We were there in early September.

We only stayed one night. It was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Good hotel, convenient and close to airport

We stayed at the Novotel and the hotel met all of my expectations. It was very reasonably priced and was clean, had free internet access in the lobby and wi-fi available. Friendly staff. The tram stop is right outside the hotel. The hotel does not provide shuttle service to the airport anymore since the tram stop is right there but can’t complain the airport is 4-5 stops away, about 10 minutes on the tram. I have stayed at many hotels and I would recommend this hotel, especially if you want to be close to the airport.

Check out Hiltl restaurant in Zurich. Good food, Vegetarian restaurant, very classy, good service.

Exceeded Expectations!

We were just passing through Zurich and found the Novotel to exceed our expectations for an affordable, convenient, comfortable hotel.

Very convenient.

Very convenient location, 10 minutes to airport by tram. The tram station is located right outside the hotel entrance, no more than 100 steps away, very easy. WiFi in the room at no additional cost.

I only stayed one night but the facilities were great and rooms well maintained. The breakfast cost is fair. An additional fee is charged for parking.

Good location

We wanted a hotel near the Zurich airport and found this one. Christmas decorations were nice. Internet access was good. Check-in and check-out were easy.

It’s clean and comfort. The only problem is it’s about 10 minutes away from the nearest railway station. It’s not pleasant to walk during a raining night. But overall, it’s a good hotel to stay, especially it’s close to the airport and the shuttle service is good enough.

Great for overnight before flying

This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. Close to the airport and convenient. Good transportation. Staff was incredibly unfriendly. Restaurant service was depressing. Reception understaffed. Room was very nice, although the shower leaked massively (strange door arrangement). Fine for what I needed and clean.

The train station is close to the hotel, so don’t waist money taking a taxi.

Not impressed

They are going thru construction. Its a mess. Also my room had water leak from the AC vent. Overall, it was not satifactory.

Under construction

The hotel is located in a heavy street construction area and access to the hotel is very difficult. Not enough parking and too far away from local restaurants. The hotel has 2 restaurants but one is closed due to the overall renovation. The remaining restaurant is not very family friendly.

very nice hotel

Very friendly, efficient front desk staff, near airport, a short walk to train station to go to Zurich, very clean. We were able to sleep 2 adults and 2 kids in a room which was fine for a layover.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

for layovers with a few hours to enjoy, it is a 10 minute walk to the train station and a 9 minute train ride into zurich for a beautiful walk to the river and shopping/restaurants. You can buy adult train tickets at the hotel and have them give you instructions for buying children’s(half price)tickets at the station if you don’t speak german.
