It’s budget people!

It always amuses me to see complaints about cleanliness and location when it comes to budget hotels. I can sleep anywhere, and do so better when I know I’ve scored a deal. That being said, I don’t care for giant cockroaches any more than the next guy. As far as cleanliness and condition that would be my only complaint. There was only one but it was on my pillow (with me) and it was huge. Shoddy door with large gaps btn the door and frame might have something to do with it. Staff I spoke with were all courteous and professional, and the police really looked like they had whatever they were there for (@ 12am) under control.I liked the older pool (with a real deep end), the nice plants/trees around the pool area, and would definitely have taken advantage of the bbq grill had time permitted. All the staff I spoke with were very professional and courteous. My BIGGEST complaint was that the breakfast was advertised as a hot/cold BUFFET style breakfast when it was really a pretty poor excuse for a continental breakfast. We paid $10 more than we would have at another nearby hotel b/c of the breakfast. They did offer a 10% discount at a nearby diner which I found a little suspect b/c the diner logo appears on their card keys. A hotel employee enthusiastically suggested we dine there rather than going to the nearby Waffle House, you do the math. I’m still going to be travelling budget, but next time I’m checking out one of their competitors.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Budget means budget people! In Phoenix you’re going to end up in shady neighborhoods and with less than desirable rooms. Still, when was the last time you read about an innocent hotel patron being involved in a serious incident? If you really want to save $$$, you’ve got to figure out just how much you’re willing to put up with. Me personally, I don’t spend much time in the room. I’m in town to hike, play with my kid (Castles-N-Coasters is great), or hang out by the pool.

Average Hotel

Everything was OK, but I would rate it as average to above average for the price. Overall it was comfortable.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

This was a good price and didn’t spend much time in the room. Breakfast was fine and satisfying.

convenient and quiet

Doesn’t look like much, but the rooms were clean and the free breakfast was nice. It’s right next to I-17, but it is very quiet - no road traffic sounds. I would stay there again.

Traveler's tip

Don’t really have any tips - I booked online so my rates were very reasonable.
