Overview of our stay at Budapest Karoly Central -- Be prepared
Pro’s: excellent location, very good price, clean, resonably comfortable, VERY close to Metro stop; nice, responsible reception staff; Expedia booking was flawless...no issues AT ALL. Con’s: finding "hotel" to start with(this is more like some rooms for rent rather than a full hotel) ; rather spooky elevator/passages to "lobby"; room was VERY basic and quite small with little storage for clothes, toiletries, etc.; breakfast was served as requested, but it was NOT good food. Thank goodness we’d used a car service to get to the "hotel" or we may never has known where to look...even when told by our driver, we still had difficulty finding the hotel.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
this hotel is a GREAT value, and is so close to the Metro you have easy access to most of the sights you’d want to visit.

Pleasant Surprise! Will Return.
Great Location! We walked to nearly every venue and used the metro only once. Entrance is a little tricky to find at first but the great staff, comfy rooms, and central location make up for the unkempt entry. We will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Budapest.
