Best Hotel experience in Italy
We stayed in six hotels in Italy. This was by far our best experience. The hotel was lovely. We had dinner the first night, a wonderful introduction to italian cuisine. Breakfasts were excellent. We especially liked the room with all the beautiful woodwork and marble. The fountains outside were pretty. Parking was easy. It was a great retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle in Rome.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We drove a rental and came in August. Books all suggested not driving in Rome and that August was a bad time because everyone in the city was on vacation. We drove and had no problems. Parked close to all attractions. You do have to drive defensively. A GPS is a must!!! Dont leave home without it.

Great hotel, great value
We used this as a comfortable and affordable base for family travel into Rome. We had a car, so getting there was no problem and they have plenty of free parking. Our quad rooms (stayed there at the beginning and end of our trip) were large, clean and had a great view of Rome from the balcony. The area was quiet so we slept wonderfully, away from the noise of the city. We walked to and from the train station each day which was not a huge hassle but I wouldnt have wanted to do the walk with luggage. Train tickets are sold in the bar across from the station (1.2 euro) and you have to validate them by writing the date, time and stop name (Pantanella) on the tickets before boarding. Had nice dinners at the pizzeria near the train station and at a restaurant overlooking the lake in Castel Gandolfo - only 4 miles away and a gorgeous view of the lake and the Popes summer residence. Wireless internet in the lobby was nice. Breakfasts were pretty typical with what we experienced elsewhere. We would definitely stay here again.
