Will go back--with pleasure

Above the grand lobby are the perfectly nice rooms, if a little on the shabby side. The front desk was pleasant, if lacking professionalism. Little things like not keeping the apple bowl at the front desk/lobby entrance filled--not acceptable for a hotel charging these rates. The concierge was hardly there and when we asked for travel directions, he gave us a route that would have taken four times longer to get to where we were going! One incident with the maid was dealt with quickly and graciously by the front desk and handled so well that we would not hold it against the hotel. The Selkirk (hotel restaurant) was a mixed affair. Some food outstanding, other not so great. Service, again, not very professional. Fabulous pool facilities. Would definitely go back and would definitely seek out other properties belonging to this hotel group.

Worth 4 Stars

I had one of the least expensive rooms but it was newly redecorated and was beautifull. You had to pay for parking but due to the ideal location it was worth the convenience. 4 stars is a proper rating.

Location its best asset

This is in a very good location -- close to the waterfront and within walking distance of lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. However, the hotel itself was somewhat disappointing, primarily because the lobby area and especially the rooms are really in need of updating. We had limited interaction with the hotel staff, but they were friendly and helpful when we did.

Best hotel on the island!

The Delta Prince Edward Island is superb! From the beauty of the hotel to the location to the staff! Excellent!

Great location

Beautiful Rooms, but staff lacks

The hotel and its surroundings are quite beautiful. While the staff was always kind, good-humored and accommodating, they never anticipated guests’ needs. The hotel would be much improved if the staff, especially housekeeping, were properly trained. We had to request everything from getting silver at the breakfast table to having the room cleaned. We would leave in the morning, and upon our return at 2 or 3 p.m., we would have to request that the room be cleaned as it would have remained untouched. They did not change the sheets, and the linens became so dirty, my daughter and I got rashes. During our ten-day stay, the ice bucket was never emptied, I believe the sheets were only changed once, and we even had to go down to the front desk to request toilet paper since we ran out and didn’t have an additional roll. Lastly, when we visited the guest laundry room to do our laundry, three of the dryers were filled with rags. The housekeeping staff was doing their laundry in the guest laundry room!

I recommend the theatre down the street. We saw two plays their during our stay, and both were excellent! Also, the area has fantastic restaurants surrounding. Skip the tourist trap, Lobster on the Wharf. There is much better seafood on the island than this.
