Hard to locate
Room was OK, but hotel was hard to locate. I just needed a one night stay to catch a fly next day at Ciampinos airport, but we (me and the cab driver) had a hard time trying to locate the hotel (a big issue when the meter is around sixty euros). I got there late (around midnight), and couldnt find a place to hace something to eat.

Clean small hotel
I like it. Most of the the front desk people are nice. Breakfast is not much, only bread, juice and coffee, but its good for the money. A little far from Rome down town, but the train station is 800 meters walking distance. I would stay again.

Fast, Friendly, and Free: All in All, A Bargain
The bad news first. My major complaint is the hotel had my room AC and refrigerator thermostat controls rigged, so I could not chill out. As a result, it was not possible to quickly cool down from the 90+ degree F heat outdoors after walking from the nearby train station. The refrigerator temp was not cold enough to keep my beer chilled, nor adjustable, either. (That is a shame, too, since there was a grocery store next to the train station [FS].) Otherwise, I was satisfied. For one, I was able to save many Euros on transportation. It was only a casual 15 minute walk to and from the Ciampino FS and hotel through a safe residential neighborhood, day and night. From the FS, you could get to and from both the Ciampino airport on the bus and the Termini FS in central Rome in 15 minutes for 1,20 and 2,30 Euro respectively. That is a half hour each way between the hotel and both destinations on modes of transport that run frequently for a lot less than the 20-30 Euro it would have cost for a taxi. Finally, the English-speaking staff was extremely courteous, attentive, and helpful; although, the all Italian language TV channels were useless, but then how much time do you spend in your room anyways. Remember, in the end, you get what you pay for! All in all, I was satisfied with the Ciampino Hotel; I feel like I got my dollars worth for my three nights there.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Fly into Ciampino (CIA), not Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (FCO). It only cost a few Euro to travel by bus and train from CIA Airport and train station to Central Rome, whereas it cost 11 Euro to travel from FCO. It takes longer from FCO as well and seats are scarce. Then too, CIA is compact in size, whereas FCO is overwhelming; you cant be in a hurry if you use FCO.
