Comfort Inn Mountain View

It served our purpose

The nicest feature of an otherwise nondescript hotel, was a secluded outdoor hot tub. We were in the area to play in a basketball tournament, so it was nice to gather there at the end of the day and relax with friends and teammates. The complimentary breakfast, available next to the registration desk, was adequate. Overall, the place served our purpose - at a reasonable rate.

Some improvement needed

The staff were friendly and helpful, except during breakfast.. The room was nice and comfortable. The parking area was cramped and difficult to exit onto a busy street. The pool area was uninviting. The "breakfast" situation is totally unacceptable: there were none of the usual tables and chairs, the whole area was cramped and inadequate, no one helped.

Good room at a good rate

The hotel had very friendly staff, and we had an attractive, spotless room. Comfy beds. The lobby is a little small, so we took our breakfast back to the room on a tray.

Not impressed

The staff was less than friendly. One of the elevators didn’t work, and the staff didn’t bother to tell us that there is another elevator.

Good Hotel for the price.

I was pleased with our stay at the Comfort Inn Mountain View. We have stayed there several times before.

Great stay for the money

We spent over a week in the Mountain View area looking for apartments. We stayed here the first night we were in the area and loved it. Since we were trying to save a little money, we tried two other hotels in the area, but they didn’t compare in comfort, noise control and cleanliness that this place provided. We came back on two separate occasions to finish our stay here. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired and the parking was tight under the hotel (if you have a nice car, choose your spots carefully). For the extra $10-$15 a night it cost us, it was well worth the money. Safe, clean and convenient to Starbucks, Whole Foods and more. The best Comfort Inn of our journey.

Traveler's tip on dining

If you like Italian Food and are finding it hard to come by on the West Coast, try Frankie, Johnny & Luigi’s II on El Camino Real. Same side of the ECR about 5 blocks down. We had Osso Buco and tortellini with vodka sauce. Excellent meal with very friendly staff. You can also get hand-tossed pizzas if you’re looking for something to take back to the room.

On my stay, despite 1/4-full hotel, I was given room overlooking El Camino Real. Road noise doesn’t bother me -- it helps as "white noise" in first-night surroundings, but the hotel’s neon light is directly outside the room (214) and it blinks on and off all night. Of course, I didn’t notice this until I turned out the lights to sleep. When I called the front desk about turning off the neon, I got a reply I didn’t appreciate: "Did you pull your curtains?" Yes, I had pulled the curtains, but the flashing light came in on the sides and underneath. Ask for a room on the west side -- away from neon lights.

Great Comfort at a Low Price

Given the overpriced hotels in this Silicon Valley city, the Comfort Inn provides an inexpensive rate and a top-notch room.

Won’t go back

This may be a minor complaint, but the continental breakfast closed up early while we were eating. It was scheduled until 10:00, but closed before 9:00.

More like No Comfort Inn

Of the countless hotels I have stayed in, this was by far the worst. Seemingly has no insulation. Room was colder than outside and once it warmed up an hour later, the floor remained frigid. Bathroom was always wet & musty, no water pressure. To top it off, the employees across the board were unprofessional and simply had no desire to be helpful. The local ownership does not comprehend customer service. I would go on, but... Believe me or not, I’m not complaining, it’s 100% true. Just looking out for the next poor soul coming to the area.

A decent place to stay

This was a good basic hotel. Nothing to write home about, but it’s clean and not scary. I stayed three nights, and didn’t do much more than sleep and shower. The heat in the room was always off when we came in, and the room would be as cold as 50 degrees, but it quickly warmed up once we arrived in the room. Our shower had a weird shower curtain that often leaked a little, but it was otherwise fine. I used the wired Internet connection, and it worked well. I didn’t try the wireless. The hotel did smell musty, especially in the hallway.

Near Shore Line Theater

I would return to this hotel clean plenty of parking. Comfortable beds extra pillows which was nice. Perfect if your attending an event at Shore Line

This is the perfect place to stay if you by chance are attending an event at Shore Line. Also pretty reasonable price considering it was last minute reservations.

Very comfortable, clean, and quiet.

Every employee friendly and helpful. Close to great restaurants.We had to be in town for a funeral and to settle the affairs of a family member----this was a true respite.

Great low priced hotel in Mountain View

I’ve staid in many of the budget priced hotels in and around Mountain View and this one is the best. I’ve staid here half a dozen times. Staff is friendly, location is convenient, the rooms are comfortable and everything is clean. The broadband connection goes in and out sometimes . . . that’s it for complaints.

Not fancy, but a nice, clean Comfort Inn with a nice continental breakfast.
