great staff, great location but bad carpet
Hotel is in museum district in a beautiful area trams stop out the front. It is 5 minute ride to downtown. Hotel staff evry helpful with directions etc. However the carpet in our room was so dirty and stained it made the whole room feel dirty. Bathroom was clean. Come on guys change the carpet and it would be a winner!

A Great Choice
Amsterdam - especially close to the city center - can be hectic and noisy. This hotel, with easy tram access to anywhere inn the city, is far enough away from the ruckus and superbly managed. The room was clean and very comfortable; the breakfast was a good (included) value; and the staff was extremely friendly.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you, like me, prefer to hop on and off of the public transportation (the excellent tram service in Amsterdam), get an unlimited ride pass rather than a 15 ride "strip ticket." Also - book museums and especially the Anne Frank House (the most moving experience in Western Europe) admissions in advance to avoid the (long) queues.

good location if you like to walk...close to the museums and shopping district. the streeet train runs right out side the front door for quick access to the city
