Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket

stayed at the sheraton laguna first 10 days in october, with my husband and 4 year old son,even though we had 4 days of rain that could not dampen our experience of the hotel or the area itself. facilities are second to none,staff are at your disposal 24/7, I commented to my husband I felt I was getting a taste of what it must feel like to be a celebrity,bucket of ice in room every evening, a phone call asking what time I would like to have my room serviced,again a call after we booked a trip to fantasia show through hotel to ask if we enjoyed. food is excellent,especially albatross bar in laguna village,almost on a par with european prices,but the quality second to none. so much to do in this hotel for children and adults alike, I would highly reccomend for a family or romantic break on equal levels,they have got the balance just right,ok the only negative observation is the hallways leading to the rooms are in need of a lick of paint, but how much time do you spend there..when you enter the rooms it is a totaly different story. this hotel really does what it says on the tin!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

we ate in the hotel when we wanted to spoil ourselves, but dont be afraid to wander outside the hotel for food, obviously it is a lot cheaper, and the thai people will go out of there way to reccomend places to you,the standard of restaurants in the surrounding ares is excellent,and if on a family holiday you will save a lot for other treats.

Very pleasant locale-in Phuket- quiet and beautiful suuroundings

The Sheaton Grand Laguna-Phuket is a very nice place to stay- 4 * category is appropriate. Excellent breakfasts and the Spa was good. The beach is clean and water in the Andaman Sea warm and clean.The pool area is good. Service is highly satisfactory and the staff is courteous and pleasant. The dinner sites are above average but not excellent. Transportation to and from the Phuket airport is available for a price.

Dining noted above Shopping-"touristy" and typically pricey for a resort area - better buys in Bangkok Nightlife- not a high priority for us N/A Having play areas for kids, the beach and water activities and the availability of baby elephant to play with - a plus for families with children but it is a distance to go for a family vacation.

Never again will I stay in a connecting room

Didn’t realize upon first going to the room that I was in a connecting room. The people in the adjoining room smoked and the fumes came under the door. Then they argued very loudly for several hours. This was to be my first good night of sleep in Thailand after traveling over 24 hours. Needless to say it did not happen. The next night the adjoining room was occupied by a couple with a very small infant who cried during the night. This kept up during my 2nd and 3rd night in the hotel. Thankfully, after two nights of this I was leaving.
