Lovely Hotel in the Center of Dublin
If you want to be in the center of everything happening in Dublin, the Westbury Hotel is the place to be. Our room was lovely, and we were close to shopping, restaurants, and pubs on Grafton Street, and within easy walking distance of museums and the River Liffey. The service was wonderful, and we had a lovely breakfast (which was not included in the room fee, beware). The one downside is the parking--the garage is tiny, tiny, tiny, difficult to get to with the number of pedestrian street closures, and expensive -- 20 euros a night, which is not included in your room fee). If you should decide to stay at the Westbury, ditch the car or park in the public lots close by which are alot cheaper. Cabs seemed to be sitting outside the hotel round the clock, so no car is easily an option.

A five star gem
The Westbury is a modern luxury hotel just off Grafton, the pedestrian street that runs between Trinity College and Saint Stephens Green. The National Gallery is also nearby and the airport bus stops a block away. Sight-seers will find themselves right in the heart of things.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The hotel restaurant seemed a tad expensive, so we ate breakfast at Bewleys, just down the street. However afternoon tea in the Hotel Lobby is an experience not to be missed. Well worth the price.

Very Nice
This is a very comfortable place to stay. It is quiet and yet in the heart of Dublin. It is very easy to get to any restaurant or attraction that you may be interested in visiting. The room was top quality as was the service. I highly recommend staying in this hotel. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Great hotel and location
If you are spending time in Dublin, you have to check this hotel out; its in an idea location (away for the touristy temple bar area) on Grafton street, close to shops, parks and great pubs. Its worth the extra price.

Honeymoon In Ireland-Very Impressed!!
Let me start by saying the location of this hotel in Dublin is absolutely the best spot you can shoose to stay at in the city. Everything is right outside your door. The hotel itself was beautiful, the service was impeccable, and they were kind enough to upgrade our room to a suite since we were there on our honeymoon. The cleaning staff was spectacular, and even took the liberty of "posing" my stuffed animal on the bed every night, which was a nice welcome back to our room each evening. I couldnt recommend this hotel enough, and will most definitely stay there again the next trip we take to Dublin.
Traveler's tip on dining
There are several pubs & restaurants just outside your door at the Westbury, but the coffee just just around the corner on Grafton has very tasty Lattes for only 2 Euro all day, which is a steal!

excellent location
Right on Grafton Street, walk out your hotel door and you are there. McDaids Pub (1779) right across street. Easy walking distance to anything in central Dublin, both sides of Liffey. Excellent service.

Perfect pick!
After reading many reviews of hotels in Dublin city centre we couldnt be happier that we chose The Westbury. The airport link bus from the airport brought us a stroll away for a really reasonable price. The hotel is nestled amoungst great shopping, pubs and restaurants, a very busy atmosphere. Our room was beautifully appointed and the staff were very helpful organizing day trips out of Dublin. All in all, we loved it!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Be sure to hop on the double decker tour buses that cruise around the city. The driver provides great information about the many sights along with some humerous tales. You can get on and off along the way and never have to wait to move on to your next destination. Oh ya, be sure to have a rain jacket (July)

Very nice, though a bit pricey
The Westbury is a nicely located hotel about a block off Grayson Street. It is a bit difficult to drive to and parking in the hotel garage is limited. Amenities of the Westbury are all that one would expect in an upscale property. Complimentary continental breakfast was adequate, but not outstanding. All-in-all, a quite nice hotel near shopping and other attractions of downtown Dublin.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If youre planning to be in downtown Dublin for only a few days, dont rent a car during that stay. Coaches from the airport to very near the hotel are only 12 Euro round trip while parking at the hotel is 20 Euro/night. Driving and parking downtown are more of a hassle than its worth to have a car with you. (Same comment is generally true in most large metropolitan areas worldwide.)

Perfect Location
Clean modern hotel, service was incredible and the location was perfect...right on Grafton Street within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, Temple Bar, Trinity College, St. Stephens Green and many more attractions. Would stay there again without question.

Great Dublin Location
Ive been going to Dublin 5-6 times a year for the last 10 yrs, and the Westbury is by far one of the best locations and values I have come across. It is quietly located just behind Grafton St., the main shopping area in central Dublin...and is perfectly suited for business meetings in the lobby, or late night drinks with friends. Good sized rooms with extremely comfortable beds. A great spot.

Luxury and comfort not to be missed
Terrific hotel and service. The decor certainly clashes with traditional Galway, but appropriately situated only a short walk (10-15 minutes) from downtown. The breakfast (included in our rate) is not to be missed!
Traveler's tip on dining
Dont miss the hotel breakfast.

Not 5 star quality but decent customer service if you complain
The Westbury is a nice hotel in an excellent central Dublin location. We ordered room service having arrived too late for anything else, and it was really appalling- they had almost nothing (on the already limited menu) and brought us unappetizing sandwiches on rubbery sliced bread. They did take all of this off the bill when I complained about it at check out time. Wireless service was very poor or non existent (in the rooms and breakfast restaurant) - it only worked in in the middle of the lobby.

Great Location-not up to Westbury Expectations
Front desk was very very slow, "could not find" expedia reservation and mistakenly gave me a key for 1 night (not 2 as reserved). But friendly enough. Rooms was very noise, but noise from other rooms shocked me in a hotel of this stature. Cant beat the location-I just worry they know that and play down to the comptetition-Shelbourne beat them handily in my recent experience.

Exceeds all expectations
My very particular classy wife is yet thanking me for trusting Expedia reviews and picking this hotel. It was beyond beautiful, extremely elegant, and the staff was hospitible and helpful. I actually met one of the owners in the elevator (not knowing who he was) and was asked how I like the hotel and would I come back. After raving about the hotel he introduced himself and seemed to really care about our feedback. The location was excellent but would have meant nothing if the hotel was not excellent. The Westbury did not meet expectations in shattered all expectations. Thank you Expedia family for your reviews that led me to this hotel.
Traveler's tip on dining
If you want to eat where the locals eat good Irish food avoid the resturants close to the hotel...eat at the pubs on the north side of the river, about a 10-15 minute walk and well worth it. Look for Burdocks in the food court for fish and chips.

Would definately go back.
The hotel was very well appointed..very attractive and comfortable. They supplied a light breakfast for no charge if you did not have the buffet included in your room fee. Concierge was very informative and helpful. The only criticism occurred on our arrival. We had taken a night flight to Dublin and arrived at the hotel very tired. The doorman was not at his post and we had to drag our suitcases up a short flight of stairs to the reception desk. They were apologetic but we felt that should not happen at a 5 star hotel. Everything else went very smoothly. Every subsequent morning we saw a doorman..must have been a quirk.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This hotel is in an excellent location. We walked to many attractions..Trinity college, St. Stephens Green. It is on Grafton Street which is a charming pedestrian walk with many shops. The hotel is very near the hop-on hop-off bus for other sightseeing. Would stay there again.

Located in the heart of Dublin.
The hotel was undergoing slight renovation as noted. That was not a bother. The hotel breakfasts were great; although, they were not complementary. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was expendive for the quality of the beef. We are used to great steaks grown in the U.S. All of the services provided by housekeeping were top notch as this is a "World Class Hotel."
Traveler's tip on dining
Its no surprise that pub food is the best in Dublin. For the price and courteous wait staff, we liked Davy Byrnes Pub.

Great Hotel, Great Location
The staff were great, the rooms were great, they are doing some construction in the hotel, but it is completely unbothersome. Location is great, right off Grafton, close to pubs, restaurants, shopping, and right next to Bruxelles, awesome little pub, not hight end, but fun! Overall I would highly recommend it.

Great experience
The hotel is in an excellent location on Grafton Street---virtually everything is within walking distance. The rooms were very tastefully decorated as were the open spaces of the hotel. Although there was some construction taking place at the time, the work areas remained clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Will Stay Again
Although the hotel was undergoing renovations...which will make it all the more lovely when we return....we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is perfectly located with shopping, dining and sights all within walking distance. Rooms, service and staff were A1.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Make sure to research VAT refund process on items purchased prior to traveling. With the value of the dollar being so low this really helps!!
