Great time during the off season
The resort is gorgeous and will be even more stunning once the construction is complete early next year. Our room was huge, and the pictures online didnt do it justice. From granite counter tops to a fully equipped kitchen with a gorgeous view, we couldnt have been happier. As for activities, the resort has direct access to Tuff E Nuff which is a group that can schedule anything youd like to do. We went snorkeling, cave tubing, toured the ruins, and fished the reef -- all through the same outfit at affordable prices. The staff here was great and really flexible. However, there were a couple of negative items to point out: -Coco Beach will not have a restaurant until next year so that was a bit inconvenient. Cocos sister property, Belizean Shores, did have a restaurant, but it was expensive for the quality, and the staff was less than desirable. -There was no access to San Pedro other than via a water taxi or long bike ride. This made it a bit inconvenient to go grab a quick bite to eat or grab groceries because you are at the mercy of the water taxi schedule. -Finally, the pool at Coco Beach is gorgeous, and the bartender is great. Alberto couldnt have been more hospitable. However, the drink prices were quite exorbitant. These were by far the most expensive drinks we had on the trip (other than at Belizean Shores).
Go to Belize in October. It is still during hurricane season, but the weather was great for our trip. And, we benefitted from the fact that many people arent traveling at this time. We were able to go out on many excursions with our own personal guide -- for no extra cost.

Best on the island
This resort is beautiful. They are still under construction and if the sound of pounding nails is going to be upsetting then dont go but if that can be put aside, this is an amazing place. Very clean and well kept. They even do the dishes in the sink for you when they clean the rooms. Some of the resorts we ate at show the signs of age and dont look as clean on the outside as Coco Beach was. I would like to go back and see it when it has been completed. And as far as the off season goes...this is the time to be there. There were still many people in town and most of the restaurants were still open and you didnt need reservations. The weather was beautiful. We set our AC in our room on 80 so we wouldnt freeze walking in the door. It rained for about 5 minutes on 3 days out of the 8 we were there. I would definitely go again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
I suggest taking the flight from the airport out to the island. The taxi ride can be unnerving and the boat ride is long, loud and rough. The planes appear to be in great shape and fly regularly. It is more expensive but will save some discomfort. Also the boat between the neighboring resort (Coco Beachs Dock is under construction) to San Pedro is well worth the flat rate weekly fee over any other transportation to town.

Coco Beach Resort
Our stay at Coco Beach was simply amazing! The place was spacious, very clean and well organized with great furniture. I loved the ocean view from my balcony every morning! The pool is amazing there and the rum punch served at the swim up bar is delicious. The complimentary boat ride to the resort and leaving the resort is nice but otherwise it builds up taking the island ferry everywhere. I recommend the resort to familys as it is quiet and far from the town where a lot of parties happen.
Traveler's tip on dining
There is no restuarant at the resort. They recommend eating at their sister hotel next door called the upstairs bar I believe but the service there is awful and the food is even worse. I ordered a carrot cake to go and the buser took a bite out of my cake in front of my face thinking I was not watching him. I would recommend eating in town because the places to eat by coco beach are all overpriced for the quality. If you want authentic that would be in town also.
