Nice place to stay in Aruba

Radisson was good. We were satisfied with the staff and the cleanliness. My only complaint was the comfort of the bed. Their memory foam bed was very uncomfortable for me and I woke up every morning with a lower back pain. This may not be the case for everyone but I have a somewhat sensitive lower back and a regular firm mattress would have been much more enjoyable. All in all, we were pleased with the hotel and everything that it offers.

Aruba vacation

The time we had spent there was not enough. The hotel was great, and the staff could not do enough for you.

Traveler's tip

We were not able to do all of the things Aruba offers you. You would have to stay a few weeks to do that.

Radisson Aruba, Great Hotel

This is a great hotel, spotless and I am fussy! Received an upgrade to deluxe ocean due to off season, and it was a big room, always fresh towels, bed turned down at night, chocolates on pillow, all the nice touchs. Loved the crisp white sheets. Open air bar was best bar in area, beats the Hyatt next door, lovely to sit out at night. All the action is across the street., not much going on at the lobby bar, quiet and tv on, but nice atmosphere. Pools were great, Gilligans bar by the pool, nice with happy hour and 2 for 1 daily at 1pm-3pm...needs better music though! Would go back, for sure...better food in restaurants around Aruba....but for lodging, this hotel is fantastic.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat across the street from Radisson, many places to choose from, and not bad pricing. At the Radisson, there is a daily special (take take an item from lunch menu) and it’s $8.50 with an ice tea, and each lunch was pretty good for that price. (didn’t like dinner there though).

Honeymooners Beware!!

We stayed at the Radisson for the first two nights of our honeymoon. Overall, the hotel and room were nice. When we booked the room, we made sure to tell them we were honeymooners. They congratulated us upon check in as well. AND, they even sent a bottle of champagne up to our room. There was no question as to what the purpose of our stay was. HOWEVER, we were in an adjoining room. On the other side of those 2 doors that adjoin the rooms were little children. Those kids LOVED to play with the door on their side of the room. They would open it and pounded on ours at all hours of the day and night!! We complained to the front desk a number of times. Their only solution was to put some foam in between the doors!!! On any other vacation it would not have been so bothersome to me. I would not have even cared if there were loud children in the room next door. It was the fact that they booked us into an adjoining room with a paper thin door. I was very disappointed.

Nice beach, cool casino

Outside of happy hour (or gambling) it is very expensive to drink there. VERY. Breakfast at Laguna is super pricy. Get outside of the hotel. Rooms are nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

Go to Salt & Pepper accross the street. It is cheaper and the tapas are awesome. Try spicy beef!

A Nice Resort on a Great Beach

Overall, I am very pleased with the Radisson. It has a great beach, nice pools, and well kept grounds. I enjoyed the food and drinks at Gilligan’s. Judging by the number of families with small children, it is very kid-friendly resort. The building interiors were a bit dark; a bit more lighting in the hallways would have been nice. The front desk staff was hit and miss. Some staff was be helpful, others seemed unsure how to answer any question or irritated that you even had a question. As others have said, the grounds have a nice feel to them which is different than the Las Vegas-esque appearance of the surrounding resorts.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring your own sun screen/block. The prices at the resorts are about four times what you pay at a local drugstore. Also, it is apparently a common occurrence for luggage not to make connections from Miami. Be sure to take what you need for the first night in your carry-on bags. (My checked bag landed 8 hours after I did even though I had a 1.5 hr layover.)

can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I went to the Radison recently for a week’s vacation. We both had a great time. Everyone was very nice, helpful and very accommodating. We met alot of very nice people and had a very relaxing and wonderful time in Aruba. We went snorkeling and jet skiing while there and had a blast. Happy Hour was great too. The drinks were all soooo delicious. Sunset grill at the Radison was fabulous as well as the many restaurants we visited in the are. We didn’t want to leave. After looking at the other hotels in the area we were very happy with the Radison. The Radison had more of an islandy feel as the other hotels felt like you were in Las Vegas. The only thing I have to say is that I did enjoy the bigger hotel’s casinos more than the one at the Radison. Overall I enjoyed my vacation at the Radison immensely.

Traveler's tip

Watch out for bees on the beach although I might has been the only person on the entire stretch of beach who stepped on a beach by the shoreline and got stung

A good choice & would go back.

Landscaping/grounds were beautiful. Best beach on the strip-plenty of palapas & chairs for shade. Good system for reserving the palapas daily. Spa area & massage was very nice and hotel had a special the week we were there. Hotel in great location-many restaurants close by. Felt the food at the hotel to be average at best. Did not like the pre fixe menu at the sunset grill-had to send the entree back. Don’t get the meal plan unless you like buffets.

Traveler's tip on dining

Papiamento restaurant in a beautiful setting & food was excellent-only a $7 cab ride each way. Smokey Joe’s great for ribs. Gianni’s very good italian-best cannoli I ever had!

Excellent Time

Everything was exceptional except for four small things... 1. The Casino is awful.. dealers are unfriendly and pay "special attention" to locals. 2. The room service and drinks etc are very expensive! Two coronas at the pool $12.50 3. You have to be at the towel stand to reserve a palapa for the next day exactly at 4pm or you can forget getting an ocean front view. We got stuck behind a very loud and annoying 3 family party from Long Isalnd for 3 days. 4. Other than that this place is great! Sunset Grill is Ok for dinner.. definately many better places around the island and for less money.

Traveler's tip on dining

Passions - Very romatic on the beach (Low Rise section) Madame Jeanettes - Evern better this time than last.. Live music now. Japengo - Awesome Sushi! Beats Benny Hanna and the crappy sushi stand in the mall in teh high rise district.

Another great stay!

This was our 4th trip to Aruba and our second stay at the Radisson. We stayed at the Radisson two years ago for our anniversary and loved it. This time we brought our 8 year old daughter and she loved it as well. We love the grounds, the pool, and the beach at the Radisson as well as the fitness room that looks out at the beach. If you’re looking for a great, relaxing place to stay then the Radisson is it.

good choice in aruba

the lobby was the worst feature of the property.it needs some help. beyond that the rooms and food options were welcoming and accesable. lobby bar relaxing. the boardwalk along the beach is a perfect way to see everything that is going on. i would go back. if i were to say one negative thing about aruba as a whole it would be that the food servers and bartenders are the worst i have ever found

Great Location

I traveled with a party of 10. The hotel was very helpful in giving us the 3 rooms we reserved next to each other. We were greeted at check-in with cool towels and punch. The grounds are pretty, the beach is awesome.Housekeeping was always prompt with any request we had, including a refrigorator. Don’t waste your time or money at Lagunas, food was horrible. We all loved Gilligans, every meal we had there from breakfast to dinner was great.Overall, we loved Aruba and the Radisson was nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

Don’t take the meal plan. There are so many options within walking distance.

Awesome Trip!!!!

First time to aruba my wife and I and I must say this was a very good trip! The Radisson was very nice and the property was nice as well. There are talking parrots, a casino, and they have the best part of the beach. The customer service is excellent.Very friendly staff. If I go back to Aruba that will be the place I would stay again. Had a great time!!!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Horseback riding alot of fun. Jeep/Pool Adventure was great! very bumpy ride so be prepared to get dirty and to jump around alot! But fun! You can book through DePalm Tours. Also restaurants and souvenirs pricey so bring lots of money!! ENJOY!!!

Amazing Place

This hotel was great. People were so nice at the hotel. The grounds were gorgeous and the beach was right there. And the hotel had a lot of great restaurants to offer, as well as lots of activities such as jet skiing and parasailing. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Aruba.

Traveler's tip on dining

I liked to get out and eat around Aruba and try different restaurants. The food at the Radisson is good, but you can get more diversity eating around the island.

Very nice hotel, service a little sketchy

We did not get offered an upgrade like I read many people did upon checking in. We liked our room in the main building just fine though. Two days out of the week we did not get any towels and then had to wait 45 minutes for someone to bring them. Other than that, this hotel was great! The birds were very entertaining. One bad thing with our room was the connecting door. It allowed every sneeze and conversation on the other side to be heard. Glad they were not a honeymoon couple! The beach is definitely the nicest on the strip.

The hotel with the best beach

By far, the best part of this hotel is the beach and surrounding grounds. We stayed in Curacao Tower and the room seemed a bit run-down. I asked to see a room in one of the other two towers, but was not permitted. That aside, we had a great time. The restaurants and bars were excellent. We would definitely go back!

Still the best, but...

Radisson is still the best place to stay in Aruba - you can just walk to overcrowded beaches at other hotels and see what kind of public stays there. However, Aruba in general is going down as a luxury level tourist destination and Radisson barely maintains the level of service expected. It is more on the level of typical all-inclusive Mexican resorts now, although priced for a premium segment. What’s was Ok a dozen years ago just simply won’t do now - they need to spend a lot to update their rooms and facilities to meet current requirements.

Traveler's tip on dining

Step away from overpriced restaurants at the hotels with bad service and average food. There are plenty of outstanding dining paces like Sawasdee or Wacky Wahoo just few minutes away.

best hotel

The Radisson is great. Have stayed five times. The staff is excellent. Great beach, great pool, Food/beverage is a little pricey, but other than that no complaints.

Traveler's tip on dining

Bungalo is a seaside restaurant about 100 yards down the beach. They have a great lunch menu.

Would definitely stay here again!!

The Radisson was a great choice for our stay in Aruba. Every person working at this hotel was extremely friendly, helpful, and hospitable. The pools are amazing. From what I saw of the pool areas at the other hotels, the Radisson’s was by-far the best! We loved Gilligan’s for lunch and Laguna’s for breakfast. The meal plan is a great option that helps you save a lot of money, so definitely look into it on the hotel’s website. The housekeeper Ligia is the sweetest woman you’ll ever meet and Eli working at the front is so friendly and welcoming. The casino, the shops, the restaurants, and the scenery are all great. There wasn’t much to do for activities at the hotel during the day or night, but we did activities off of the resort that were a blast. We recommend the Tattoo boat, the Jeep safari, and the Kuku Kanuku bus! All were great times!!! I think that the high rise area is the way to go in Aruba because there are a lot of shops and dining options right in walking distance. Palm beach is GORGEOUS and so relaxing. There isn’t anybody hustling you to buy anything like we experienced on a trip to the Bahamas. Overall, the Radisson was a great choice and we would definitely recommend it and would stay here again!!

Traveler's tip on dining

Definitely look into the meal plan options at the hotel. They’re a great way to save money but they allow you the opportunity to try restaurants outside of the resort. We definitely recommend El Gauchos and Madame Janette’s as well.
