undecided as to whether to return or not
As a whole, the hotel is a beautiful, very neat, clean hotel with a courteous staff and excelent happy hour and breakfast items. We have stayed in the hotel in the past without any problems, but in this instance, there was a homicide in the parking lot a few hours after happy hour right next to my daughter’s car. That area of the parking lot was sealed off to the public. The killer was not apprehended, and a swat team was staged across the street for hours, waiting to see if the killer would return. I will be apprehensive to stay in this hotel again since this hotel is near a bad section of Charlotte, even though freak accidents can occur anywhere.

Great stay for the money!
In short, the lobby was bright and beautiful. The room was clean and roomy. The bed was big and comfy. The fold-out was big and suitable for the kids. The breakfast was hot and tasty. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
When in Charlotte, at least on a nice weather day, don’t miss Freedom park. Miles of scenic walking trails, tennis courts, playground structures...it was a nice place to walk off breakfast. No charge to visit or to park.

Quiet and comfortable
When I first checked in, I was a little concerned with the hotel layout. There is a central atrium with lots of activity going on and I was worried the noise would be an issue. But once I was in my room, it was very quiet and relaxing. The beds were super comfortable; I got a great night’s sleep. I don’t think I’ve ever slept so soundly in a hotel bed. In addition, the free breakfast was delicious and plentiful!
