Speak up!
This hotel is under renovation. When I first checked in, they put me in a room that hadnt been renovated (although some furniture had been removed already). The first room was dirty, had torn carpets, badly damaged furniture - it made much cheaper hotels look like five stars. At first I accepted it - but after working out, I went to the front desk and asked to be moved because the room was unacceptable. They were more than happy to do this (must not have been the first time they heard the complaint) and put me in a very nice room - clean, nice furniture - what you would expect of a Sheraton. So speak up if you are put in a dingy room! As for the health club - while they say it is the largest in the city - it is really quite small and not well kept up (read dirty). They need to spend some capital on this if they are going to claim it as a value added component of staying at the hotel. Restaurant was closed as well (except for the sports bar on the second floor) - not a deal breaker unless you plan on eating a regular non-bar type meal at the hotel.
Traveler's tip on shopping
The "mall" connected to the hotel is empty - as in few stores. Not much around to walk to either.

Bare Bones Hotel
The hotel missed the boat on amenities. The room had just the basics, there was no free newspaper or free fruit. The only convenience was the free parking but you finding a place to park in the garage was very difficult. I had to drive around for 10 minutes on at least two occasions.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
Dont walk around downtown at night. I tried it and it wasnt safe. The place had beggars and gangsters roaming all around.

dirty hotel
this hotel had dirty carpet even in the hotel lobby. I got to my room and opened the door to the most smokey (i requested a non-smoking room) stinky smell ever, i looked in at the dirty carpet, shut the door and told the front desk girl about it. She said she could send up an airator or whatever it is that cleans the air..I left the hotel for an immaculate hotel across the street. This place is filthy.
