Lovely stay in the Lakes
Glenville House provided a comfortable, convenient base for exploring the Lake District. Located half-way between Windermere and Bowness, it gave quick access to trains, buses, boats and public footpaths for those traveling without a car. The facilities were tastefully designed and offered excellent comfort and the breakfasts were superb. It was a little hard to find assistance other than at breakfast, which I thought was a tiny flaw in an otherwise superior bed and breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Booths supermarket, by the train station, has good take-away sandwiches and snacks to take on hiking excursions and the trail for Orrest Head, for a great view of Lake Windermere, starts almost across the street.
