lots of nice eating spots on palitine rd, and the hotel is walking distance from them..

The hotel is quite standard but the price is low. It is a clean hotel. The people in the main desk is nice and they help you about everything. The restaurant is quite poor. They never replied the phone.

Britiannia Hotel at Manchester Airport

I had a late arrival into Manchester (after a 20 hour flight) and had to stay the first night. When I looked for rooms at the airport there seemed to be 2 main ones at the airport, but very expensive just for a sleep over. So I choose the Britannia Good points 1) Price 2) Location, 10 minute by shuttle service (with courtesy phone in terminal) 3) Wifi in the lounge area Not good points 1) Elevator was bad..1 out of 3 working, with not pleasant noises! 2) No internet in room 3) Telephone charges expensive 4) Shabby feel to hotel in general except the lounge 4) Bathroom had leak (?) water was running all night but too tired to bother! Had it kept me awake I would have called reception If all you want is to get your head down, then here is o.k. anything more you should look elsewhere

Dreadful Experience!

I could not be less impressed with everything about this hotel. The only time I would stay at this hotel again would be if the bus shelter is full. We were on a stop-over and so arrived after midnight. The check-in desk was un-manned, though there was a lot of noise & activity in the bar. When we were attended to, they could not find our reservation. They put us in a room in an area of the hotel that looked almost unused. The hallways and elevators were dirty and old. The room was absolutely freezing with no temperature control... I had to sleep fully clothed and with a hat on! The carpet was soaking wet on one side of the room, but we were far too tired and had already struggled with 4 cases into the tiny room to be bothered struggling back out into a different freezing room. Our wake-up call was a feeble knock on the door - Good thing the cold had already woken us up. We reserved the shuttle to the airport for 7:45am. After waiting for the antiquated elevators to take us down, the shuttle had left already by 7:46 so we ordered a taxi. I would never recommend this hotel. It really is a shame.

The room was too cold and not heaters were on. I’m not happy at all!

Airport Shuttle does not run at convenient times

Standard room was very small, and the shuttle was disappointing.

Uncomfortable

Walls where very thin. One can hear the elderly couple down the hall. Staff was mostly young adults / teenagers who lacked professionalism.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

This hotel has WiFi only at the bar. Compete for table space with drunken football hooligans, japanese techno-geeks and road weary older couples taking a break from driving north to south.

Convenient for airport travelers

about 10 minute free shuttle ride. Exterior of property not impressive but it’s better inside. Our room was nice and its restaurant is pretty good.Free Wireless internet service in lobby and in some rooms but not ours.

location can’t be beat

the location near to the airport combined with the shuttle bus make this the ideal place to stay when transitioning in / out of england through the manchester airport

Good value for short stay

We stayed at this hotel one night before departing at Manchester Airport. The hotel is 1960’s era so a little worn with no bellman but the bed was comfortable, room spacious and clean. It was located near the airport with FREE shuttle service to and from and in a nice neighborhood and you could walk to a village. Good for the money!

The food in the restaurant was quite expensive. We ate the food in the pub. It too was on the pricey side.

If you need a place to stay for one night for travel the next day

If you need a place to stay just for the night due to a flight the next day, I would stick it out and stay here. The cleanliness of this place was lacking. There was hair on the bathroom floor and stains on the walls in the room. Upon arrival, there were a lot of people waiting to check in. I was told that I would need to get into another line because she was only helping those that were part of a group. This bit of information would’ve been nice to know before I waited in line for quite some time. The airport is an 8 pound cab ride away.

If you walk outside of the hotel and head left, you will find a lot of places to eat within a five to ten minute walk.

Room quality is not equal price level

The Chinese lady at the receiption is great and helpful. Airport shuttle bus is the best service among other services.
