A good alternative at the airport
While most of the amenities at the Hampton were more than satisfactory, there seemed to be an ongoing issue with the "Business Area" Computer located in the breakfast area of the lobby. The printing had to be taken to the front desk. Since It was the only computer available for the guests, there were often several people waiting to use it, sometimes for almost an hour. As I stayed in Tucson twice over a two week period, I was interested in the fact that their prices through Expedia jumped more than any of the other hotels near the airport from one week to the next. Otherwise, I would have stayed there again.
There are several places in the Tucson Area I would strongly recommend to visit. The San Xavier Mission is an incredible mission church on the Hohokam reservation. Created by the Jesuits, and developed later by the Franciscans, it is a breathtaking amalgam of cultures and iconography. The Desert Museum is a delightful mixture of zoo, museum and nature trail. The Raptor Free Flight presentations, where they release hawks, eagles and other predator birds, and let them fly right over your head is quite wonderful. The Pima Air and Space Museum is the third largest in the country. Get the docents, who are all retired pilots or air service people, to talk about their favorite planes. It is worth the price of admission alone.
