Novatel Genova was between highways min a busy part of town
The hotel itself wasn’t so bad but the food in the restaurant was not good and it was over-priced. The staff was not very accomodating and one guy in particular at the front desk was very rude and obnoxious. They also tried to charge me for a bottle of wine that I didn’t order and were very insulting when I tried to correct the error. I would not stay there again.
Get a hotel closer to Cinque Terre or La Spezia and enjoy the Riviera. Old town Genova was like walking through the hood in a big city.

Not the best area
The area around the hotel was a bit seedy. The bus service seemed to stop early evening and it wasn’t the best area to be out late at night.

Aquarium is a good visit.

Nice room for the price
Hotel staff was helpful and spoke excellent English. They provided me with information about local dining and transportation as well as a map and directions. Locating the hotel was fairly simple as it is located just a short distance from the autostrada. Hotel is about 1km from the train station and cab fare to the train station is only around 5 or 6 Euro. Breakfast was included which makes it simpler to get an early start to make the most of your vacation. Rooms are simple but well maintained which and I didn’t go to Italy to sit in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an inexpensive stay in Genova.
