Quality place

We spent three nights here and were very pleased with the friendly service we received. It was very clean and the breakfast had a large selection. Added bonus was the cocktail hour with three free drinks per guest!

Some Bad, some good

We visited this motel mid week, the social hour at night was nice, the breakfast in the morning was good, now onto the bad. When we finally got back to our room at approx. 9:30 it was cool because when you remove the key from the system it shuts everything down. so we turned on the heat and within a few minutes the smoke alarm was going off, so we tried turning the fan on high then the heat set at 70 and again within minutes the smoke alarm was going off. We called the front desk and the clerk told us that this was normal and the smell of burned toast should go away, she was busy and could not help us at the time. So, we turned the fan on and heat down and tried again the smoke alarm went off one more time and then stopped but the smell of burning toast never went away. In the morning I complained again because who can get a good night sleep when you think at any time your smoke alarm will be going off again.

Received an upgrade to a suite with 2-story room - lofted bedroom over a living area and dining/bar area. Very nice stay. Would recommend to others.

Very Comfortable and Clean

I needed a hotel downtown for the weekend, but there was a Badger game so we had to stay in Middleton as downtown was full. It happened to work out very well to stay here as it is only about 15 minutes from downtown and the service was very good. I would stay here again.

Comfort Suites always a good bet

My only complaint with this hotel was that a very large group of soccer kids was staying here, and the check in clerk should have told us that upon check-in & asked if he could find a room away from them. He didn’t & put us right in the heart of it, but I do give the hotel credit - there were warnings posted that all kids were to be in their rooms by 11pm & absolutely no noise would be tolerated. It worked!

There is a new mall next to "hotel row" where this hotel is located, with "Cheeseburger in Paradise", an Irish Pub, and several Italian bistro’s very close by.

This is a great hotel with many amenities. We were pleased to find out that each adult got 2 free drinks during "happy hour"! The breakfast buffet was great. The pool was very nice, and the hot tub was the biggest one I’ve seen at a hotel. The only downfall was a musty smell to the room; otherwise we were very pleased. The room was nicely appointed, and slept 6 comfortably. We’d definitely go back.

Great Place to Stay

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. My husband is really picky about the beds, and showers and he was more than satisfied with both. Any problems we encountered were small and quickly dealt with by the staff.

Great location and place to stay

This hotel was located in the perfect location for our daily outings into the country side west of Madison. Was very easy to find great places to eat no matter what you were hungry for. The breakfast provide was a welcome surprise with both hot and cold choices. The one thing that was a small issue was the shower stall in the room with a whirlpool tub was on the small side if you are a larger built person. Other than that the staff and rooms were great.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

For a good burger check out the ’Cheeseburger in Paradise" resturaunt that is in Greenway station shopping area. Great atmosphere and not bad pricing.

Great value, great staff, very prompt service. From housekeeping to the front desk team, everyone made our stay very enjoyable.

Would return for another stay

We arrived fairly late but got prompt service, our room was very nice and I would definitely stay there again if I were to travel to Madison in the future.

Very loud

My husband and I are not very picky. All we ask for is a clean, quiet place to sleep. The hotel was quite clean, but was so loud that we did not sleep either night we were there. The first morning I think there were a group of fisherman that left early in the morning and were so loud, it sounded like someone was moving funiture across the hall. Then again, the second morning the it the people all around were quite loud. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything going around you. If you want to sleep, don’t stay here.

Quiet stay

This was the first non-smoking hotel that I have stayed in. It was clean and suprisingly quiet being located in a college town.

Great, Great, and Great....

This hotel is located at a perfect spot.. we were in town for a basketball tournament and we could actually drive easily back and forth between games... The breakfast was pretty average with waffles, eggs, and ham.. They also have a hotel bar that includes two free drinks for every person in your room... Could not ask for a nicer front desk staff..

Make sure to eat at the Quaker Steak and Lube... Sounds like a weird name but they had great burgers and wings..

Very clean overall with large rooms and solid construction. Good free breakfast. Staff was helpful. Good location for business on Madison’s west side.

Lukewarm Experience

The hotel looked great inside - tasteful decor, high-end finishes, etc. but overall our experience was just so-so. First, when we got to our room, we couldn’t get the A/C to work. The controls on the unit did nothing. We called the front desk, and learned that we had to use the thermostat on the wall. Not a huge deal, but perhaps they could put a sign on the unit controls? I’ve never been in a hotel room with a thermostat on the wall, just the A/C unit under the window, with its own controls. Next, over the couple days we were there, we discovered that our room had a minor ant infestation - on the third floor!!! They were mostly in the bathroom, on the floor, the counter, in the tub. But we did see several out and about in our room. Lastly, the continental breakfast was not very well stocked. Saturday and Sunday morning, that room was hopping with people, and there was one lone employee trying to keep everything filled. He simply could not keep up with the amount of people, leaving the breakfast rather sparce. Perhaps they need to hire more help? Just a thought.

My daughter has lived in Madison for 5 yrs so I have stayed at many hotels in the area. None compare to Comfort Suites; hotel and parking lot were clean, friendly and outgoing staff, great room accommodations, large pool area, and a great buffet breakfast to tame hungry appetites.

Awesome value

The comfort Suites chain is usually very reliable, and this was no exception. Everything was very clean, and both front desk people we saw during our stay were attentive and friendly. They offer two free drinks during happy hour in the "pub" room that is also used for the continental breakfast. Close to the highways and good restaurants in the shopping center that is no more than a mile away.

an excellent deal

A very good and homey hotel. The location is great because there are many fine restaurants (and Costco) nearby. Parking is no problems for these restaurants (unlike Downtown Madison). We had access to and utilized the Internet PC, an indoor pool and hot tub, and the exercise room. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour and met with our friends and fellow guests each evening in the reception area that had an open bar. It looked like the families with small children were having a great time. Overall an excellent value.

Nice but a few minor things

Check in person made me feel like I was interupting his personal call. Hotel was quiet and beds were very comfortable but maintenance seemed a little lacking (broken vent cover, lightbulb out, tissue cover in bathroom fell off). Hot tub had too much chlorine and no pool towels in the morning but water was good temperature. Breakfast was excellent-fun making your own waffles-and morning person was friendly and kept things filled.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Per binder in room, they give a free drink ticket for the hotel pub but they never mentioned it or gave one to me so if you want one, guess you have to ask for it.

Good spot, convenient to highways, close to Middleton restaurants. Very nice room. Three free drinks in the lounge per night.
