Rodeway Inn Des Moines

Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

This hotel is very run down and dirty. Our microwave had chunks of old food in it and the sheets were tattereed and well worn. The room was very hot and stuffy and the bathtub was dirty. Our friends in the room next to us had no heat. The hallway carpets were dirty and the floors appeared squeeky and weak, therefore when someone would walk down the hallway, it sounded like they were stomping. The night clerk was very nice but the morning clerk was a crabby old lady that wouldn’t even smile or greet you. The coffee was really bad so I asked if they had any teabags, and of course they didn’t. We didn’t even use shower because we just wanted to get out. We are glad that we only had to spend a few hours there. Don’t stay there if you want cleaniness, quietness, and a good nights sleep.

Traveler's tip

The city of Des Moines has awesome buildings downtown. Go see them during the day and also at night. The capitol building is beautiful. Wish we could have gone in.

The hotel was a good buy, we enjoyed our stay we did have several minor problems. Our door key would not always work, and had to be reset twice. The wireless internet would occasionally not work. Other then that the hotel was very comfortable.
