The hotel was beautiful--with potentially a beautiful view. Breakfast great.
The hotel was great. We arranged for the last night to be a triple bedded room, because our daughter was going to be with us. We had a terrible time with the front desk, because they felt we had made arrangments for a double room. That was the case with the subsequent hotel as well. It makes me think that expedia goofed in making the reservations. Not sure...but I think it was the case.

location, location, location!
Across from the Temple of Olympian Zeus and around the corner from the new Acropolis Museum and metro stop, it is hard to beat this hotel for location. Staff spoke English well and were always helpful. Breakfast buffet OK but not great but the morning view over the ruins in front or towards the acropolis in back cant be beat. Room was adequate and quite clean. Not spacious but typical of european hotels. Bed could have been more comfortable. Would stay there again and would recommend. We had to upgrade to a more expensive room to get reservations because the less expensive rooms were booked, but not sure anything more than the nice balcony made it a superior room. Would not have been worth the cost except for the location.
The set lunch (Greek salad and a choice of typical Greek entrees, and maybe a drink for a set price) offered by some tourist restaurants in the Plaka can save some money but most still charge an additional cover, usually 3 euro,. Ask in advance to avoid surprises. Some may waive it if you dont want bread and water but that is rare.
