Basic but Cold Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport

This a basic but immaculately clean hotel located by Dublin Airport. It’s very reasonably priced and very popular. I realize Ireland has had it’s coldest winter in 25 years but it doesn’t excuse the frigid rooms and frigid public areas. People were wearing coats as they ate and I had to turn the only source of heat on, when I got the the room (an inadequate electric heater). Hours later the room still had not warmed up. I would recommend the hotel but NOT during the winter months!!

Bewleys

I enjoy staying at Bewleys, the shuttle to and from the airport is great, the staff are friendly and helpful. I really like the fluffy pillows and comforter - after 12 hours of being on planes and in airports the bed is a welcome sight and ever so comfortable. I have stayed here 3 times before and will stay here in the future.

save money by buying some meats, cheeses, bread and snacks at food stores, and enjoy the countryside by having lots of picnics.

The Last Night

Bewley’s is the perfect place to stay for your last night in Dublin. The shuttles run often, it’s close to the airport, very reasonably priced and has all the amenities of the more expensive hotels. I go to Ireland 3-4 times a year & have stayed at ALL of the airport hotels. Radison Blu is my #1 - but why pay double price. The only negative, lack of toiletries, bar soap, shower cap, etc. - come prepared.

Very impressed about hotel

This was one of those times when the hotel was exactly like everything I saw and read about. The room was big, clean, and comfortable. The lobby impressive. The only downside is that it’s not in walking distance of much at all and the only thing that’s really close is the airport. Malahide and Swords village aren’t too far and they are both really nice areas.

Traveler's tip

There is a bus in the village of Swords called the Swords Express that bypasses much of the traffic getting in and out of Dublin city. It’s a great ride and saves a lot of time if you’re going into Dublin.

A fair value for quality hotel near major airport

Hotel had nice family ambience, free Internet access/business center and good value restaurants. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Traveler's tip

Although within sight of airport, access is by regular shuttle bus, but from exposed outdoor bus shuttle area. Though free, shuttle access was a bit chaotic as no queue system exists. This is tough on older folks, especially with luggage. Returrning to airport was no problem though.

Good airport hotel

Bewley’s reasonable price through Expedia and its 24-hour airport shuttle were reasons enough to choose this huge hotel. (A desk clerk told us there were 466 rooms.) We were glad we had brought sandwiches when we saw the hotel’s food prices although a pint of Guinness at the bar costs about the same as anywhere else in Dublin. All we needed was a place to sleep before a very, very early flight. Our wake-up call arrived...twice...but that was fine. We had no complaints about the hotel except for its pricey food. Adding refrigerators in rooms would be helpful to budget travelers.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Tesco markets are everywhere and sell reasonably priced sandwiches and other picnic foods.

Good Choice for Airport Hotel

Nice hotel in a well maintained building. The hotel was very busy when we arrived and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but once we got checked in the service was good.

very efficient

Bewleys Airport Hotel in Dublin is all about throughput. They take a huge bus of people from the airport and process them into their rooms pretty fast. Plane touchdown to in my room was an hour almost exactly, and that counts changing countries. The bus leaves from parking zone 2; it is at 53.42818 N, 6.24125 E. Practical for an Aer Lingus overnight connection. Very nice rooms, Internet and all. Don’t forget to appreciate the bucolic scene out your window.

Excellent Airport-type Hotel

Convenient, clean, and modern. Hotel had a good shuttle to/from airport. Check-in/Check-out was simple. I had good internet coverage and was able to work both in the lobby and in the room. Had a very good sandwich in the bar area.

Great choice for an airport hotel

This is a great choice if you are stopping in Dublin airport. The shuttle service was easy and reliable, even though I arrived very late at night. The hotel was clean, comfortable and attractive and the hotel employees were pleasant, and very efficient. I would stay again without hesitation, and recommend it.

Very convenient to Dublin airport

Spent three nights at Bewleys because my spouse and I were flying out of Dublin on different days. Frequency of the shuttle service made this hotel very convenient to catch flights and to catch buses at the airport to get into downtown Dublin. The hotel food was quite expensive. Rooms were large and clean. On our second night at the hotel, there was a party being held in the facility that was so loud that it kept me awake (though I was staying on the fifth floor.) I was glad that we didn’t have a car as parking was very expensive.

Both my teenagers and I enjoyed the Trinity College tour (run by Trinity students) and the Kilmainham Gaol tour. Fun dinner at Wagamama Noodle Bar.

Convenient Shuttle

The Bewley’s name has a well-deserved reputation for graciousness and quality. We are sure they hope to capitalize on this as they expand into the hotel line. The Airport hotel has a convenient location and the shuttle runs around the clock between the airport and hotel. This is very helpful since it is inexpensive (2.20 euros) to take a bus into the city center from the airport. Unfortunately, that is perhaps the best thing that can be said for the hotel! Beware of the "complimentary" breakfast, which isn’t complementary. When booking through expedia, you can get a room with "free" parking - but it is about $30 a day more than for the same room without parking. Vending and food in the hotel is very expensive. None of the guestrooms have A/C. While this is probably not a problem for most of the year, if you are there in the summer and it is even moderately warm you will suffer. The rooms were clean, of adequate size and everything worked. Free wireless in the rooms as well as lobby. If you are looking for a place to sleep without breaking your budget, this might work for you. If you are looking for a hotel with amenities, I would keep looking.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Oliver St. John Gogarty’s - upstairs bar - has "sessions" most every day/night. Arrive before 7:00 - stake out a good table or space at the bar - order dinner and enjoy a great evening of traditional Irish music.

Best value in expensive Dublin

Excellent. Great rooms and bedding. Restaurant seems to have changed since 2008 visit. Appears less formal. Meals are expensive, but breakfast was wonderful. Thank you Bewleys.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

For comfort, price and efficiency at Dublin airport, this compares very favorably to other options.

Good Location. Out in the country.

Away from the noises of the city. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Convenient shuttle service to the airport. Food and beverage too expensive.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

When you enter the airport there is a pastry counter on your right. Behind the pastries is a complete deli. Go inside for a hot meal. Cheaper than the hotel restaurant.

Great hotel!

I found the room to be large and bright and very suitable for my needs. The only discomfort experienced was the thick comforter on the bed. It was all they had to sleep under and I got hot, then threw it off, and got too cool. There were no other light blankets in the room. But over all it is a great place to stay. I arrived at 11 a.m. due to an early flight and the desk clerk found a room that had been cleaned and ready to use. She let me have it then so I didn’t have to wait until 2 p.m. That was extremely kind of her. The hotel shuttles to the airport run all 24 hours. Very convenient. I would definitely stay there again if I get back to Dublin, Ireland.

Good Connections

The hotel was very nice. Food was on the high side.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The hotel has a free shuttle to the airport and you can buy a Dublin Freedom Pass for 25 Euro’s for unlimited travel on the buses to and from town and includes the Hop On Hop Off bus tour of the city. Gret value for money.

Great Hotel Airport

We only stayed here one night as we were arriving late and flying out the next morning. It was great for our needs and we got a really good deal on expedia. It has a really great (huge) lounge in the lobby with tons of chairs and couches for hanging out and having a drink. The only surprise was having to pay 8 euros for the parking lot at the hotel. My husband was pretty unhappy but they were adamant!

Bewleys perfect for transit guests

Found this hotel both convenient and affordable. Clean, spacious rooms, free wi-fi, and nice lounge. Dinner in bar was same as downtown Dublin, breakfast buffet a bit pricey though. Handy airport shuttle. Would definitely stay again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Staying in Bewleys on the way out of Dublin before touring the countryside, and on the last night in Ireland before heading home the next AM, avoids expensive car rental and parking in Dublin proper. Free shuttle to/from airport, and cheap roundtrip bus from airport to Dublin makes Bewleys a must for price conscious travel!

housekeeping needs attention for late arrivals

The care that was taken for our room was marginal. We arrived after a late night flight to find a single towel in the bathroom and we were too tired to call at night. We had placed a do not disturb sign out for the morning so as not to have housekeeping wake us. As we left the hotel for the day we mentioned the towel situation. Upon returning in the evening we found a bag at our door with towels etc. Our room had never been cleaned for that day. We had never experienced this before in any hotel. Usually they come by in the afternoon to do rooms missed in the am. We were totally puzzled.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The hotel was very convenient to both the airport and the city. the shuttle made in nice for our early morning departure.

Nice Hotel but ....

The hotel is conveniently located to Dublin Airport at the junction of the M50 and the M1. The hotel and room was in good condition and clean. Check in and check out was fast. However a couple of things annoyed me. The free internet seemed to be set up as peer-to-peer, not as an access point, and just did not work for some reason with nobody knowing why. Even as a guest you have to pay 8 euros a night for self parking. The flight arrivals and departures screen was permanently was in ’updating information’ blank screen mode. However the staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant and bar food was good with fast service.

Excellent facility near airport - 24 hour shuttle

Shuttle was ready to go at 4:30 a.m. Facility was great in every way. nice to have free computer access with internet since I didn’t want to carry my laptop around Ireland.

Traveler's tip

shuttle goes Bewleys to airport about every 30 minutes. If you are travelling with Ryanair -- they are very strict with their rules -- make sure you get to airport at least 1 and a half hours before flight. Great airline to fly if you read all the fine print and follow the rules.

Great hotel near airport

We stayed here twice for flights out of Dublin. The rooms were big, cozy, and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle runs 24 hours a day and comes at least every 20 minutes. The rooms are very affordable especially with the ease of the shuttle. Great place to stay!!!
