Take the good with the so-so
The hotel, itself, is beautiful. The rooms are large enough to comfortably hold the four of us (family room). The hotel is outside the city but easily reachable by short train (two block walk) to Connelly or Pearse stations. We would choose to stay in-town though if we were to come again, simply for the ease of more night time choices. Service in the restaurant was not very good. The food was good, though.
Traveler's tip
Definitely recommend using the Aircoach transport to and from the airport to the hotel. The bus stops right outside the hotel.

Very convenient
- nice room with everything you need - quiet - in a good neighbourhood (British embassy next door) - at a stop of the airport shuttle - though not in the city centre, very well connected by public transport - staf is very attentive and helpful

Great hotel just outside Dublin centre city
Bewley’s Hotel Ballsbridge was a true gem of a hotel. We were looking to stay somewhere that had a lot of character and we found exactly that place. We arrived early on Thursday and we were able to check in early, which was a welcome relief as we were exhausted from our overnight flight! The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful and able to answer all of our questions. The hotel also provided a shuttle to and from Croke Park for the U2 Concert for a very reasonable price. This was a huge convenience for us as we were visiting from the U.S. There was also a bus stop right in front of the hotel so we were able to get into Dublin centre city easily and inexpensively. We will definitely stay there again!!!
