Great, but far from everywhere!
This was an excellent hotel! We absolutely LOVED the ambience, the rooms, the beds were the most comfortable we have EVER slept in over the 12 years we have been visiting NYC! The wine reception every evening was divine and gave us an opportunity to meet new people. The hotel employees were extremely helpful and friendly. We truly loved this place -- just wish we could have lifted it from its present location and plunked it down as few as 2 blocks closer to Times Square. Those east/west blocks are LOOOONNNGGGG, especially after a long day of walking. The neighborhood was fine -- it was weird seeing several car dealerships in the area. Great little old tavern a block away with great service and food.

Most bang for your buck in NYC.
Great hotel. Best one Ive stayed in NYC. Rooms are very big. Thought I was in a suite in Vegas. Staff very friendly. Location is a little west but it wasnt an issue. Loved not having a swarm of people right outside the door. Short walk to midtown.
