Cozy Stay
Hotel Whitcomb is not the top of the line, but cozy all the same. It’s central to everything you want to see and you have the Bart and trolly/bus station right outside for easy transportation. The staff is friendly and helpful and the room is clean. The only negative is a stale smell in the halls, when you exit the elevator.

Okay if you are on a budget!
This hotel was not the cleanest, nor the friendliest of staff, but for the price i would recommend it. Really easy to get to right off the BART and within walking distance to the big shops and malls (~1 mile). Note, it is in a seedier part of downtown San Francisco, ie not the safest to walk around at night, but very affordable compared to other options closer to Union Square. If you have the money and want to be closer to the shopping/ touristy area there are better options. If you are low on cash and can hold your own in a night fight, this place is for you.

Great Experience
I really enjoyed staying at the Hotel Whitcomb. It is an historic hotel in the heart of downtown San Francisco. It seems to me that through the years, the hotel has been maintained without losing the integrity of its original look and feel. When I walked into the lobby I felt like I was walking straight into the San Francisco of the early 1900s. Thanks for the experience.! I will definitely stay here again when I visit San Francisco again.
