Great hotel

This hotel is great. The rooftop restaurant is awesome and that is where they serve you breakfast. It’s in an ideal location between the Bazaar and Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. I would reccomend this hotel to people going to Istanbul.

Modest Price, Great service and location

I booked the smallest room, which was snug but adequate and a very good value. The staff was incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful. When I left my wallet in a cab, the concierge called the cab company, found and contacted the cabbie and arranged to have my wallet returned. The view of the Golden Horn, Marmara, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque from the top-floor restaurant is spectacular, and the Adamar is convenient to everything. My room was small and the hotel has limited public spaces, but there are excellent coffee shops (including a Starbucks) and restaurants nearby where I could sip a coffee and read or get on WiFi with my PC and work. The breakfast buffet looks unfamiliar to an American, but I found that a few olives, cheese, yoghurt and the wonderful freshly baked breads make a real stick-to-the-ribs breakfast that starts the day off right. And low-fat low-cholesterol to boot! The Adamar is cozy, friendly and conveniently located. I’d stay there any time in preference to one of the "grand" hotels.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The hotel’s wireless access is quite good, so use Skype for long-distance business and conference calls. There is a tram station within a couple of blocks. Much cheaper than taking a cab, clean, cheap and convenient. Be sure to arrive a day early or stay an extra day. The Archeological Museum at Topkapi, the Basilica Cister, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are just not to be missed.
