Love this hotel

We stayed for 4 days and loved every minute. Enjoyed walking the boardwalk every morning and along the beach. Room was clean and bed very comfortable.

The Marriott Hollywood Beach hotel was beautiful. The customer service and friendliness of the staff went above and beyond my expectations. The location of this hotel on the boardwalk was fabulous. The only wish I had was that we could have rented a toddler stroller right at the hotel. Otherwise, I will definitely come back for another stay. They exceeded all of our expectations.

Excellent customer service

From beginning to end, I was pleased with my 5 day stay. It was sort of odd to have such great customer service from every single employee that I encountered, but very nice to say the least. I used the spa and had a great massage and manicure. Ate at both the restaurant and the tiki bar as well as ordered room service and had excellent food every time. I was happy with the cost of the hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat. I am a very picky person and had to come and write a review to say how great my stay was at this hotel. If you do decide to venture away from the hotel for lunch or dinner try this little place called Vedu’s--I went two days in a row! They only accept cash, but have an onsite ATM! Wonderful hotel!!

This is a beautiful hotel and all the staff, whether at the hotel or restaurant or the spa were very friendly. We had such a nice time and make some wonderful memories.

Great beach location.

We went for a quick 3 night getaway. Nice hotel, friendly staff, great boardwalk location. The beach is beautiful! Pool area nice.

While hotel is directly on the boardwalk, you may want to rent a car. Local city transportation not very convenient.

Great for the price

This hotel is the party of the board walk. The only complaint I have is the service in the bar and restaurant are poor at best. All of the wait staff waits on all of the tables and that is a great idea except that none of them know if you have been helped. We waited a long time at breakfast and dinner.

Good choice

This hotel was surpisingly excellent. Very clean and the staff was pleasant. The room was well kept and the balcony is a plus. The only drawback is that everything around the hotel and the hotel restaurant close very early. The boardwalk is great and the beach is steps only steps away.

Don’t let the outside fool you!

This hotel was more than expected. Right on the beach, great food and excellent service. The staff seemed to go with making sure we were happy. I enjoy have people call me by my name and not just thinking I was just another tip, customer or fly by night. The children (teenagers and that) could not say enough of how much this was their best vacation ever. And we have been all over the world! Thanks for a great stay.

Great Boutique Hotel

Great hotel right on the Hollywood boardwalk. Great deal with free parking and an awesome free breakfast buffet. Dinner at the hotel restaurant featuring Chef Ron Duprat was fantastic.

This hotel was a fantastic deal if you ask me! The outside of the hotel is in some need of updating, we were a little hesitant when we first walked up, but once we got inside it was a big relief! The inside is beautiful, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the free breakfast promotion was great! We also sat at the tiki bar on our last night & had dinner. It was a bit pricey, but the food was good & it was a nice atmosphere. I saw some people complaining they weren’t able to walk through the hotel in their bathing suits, but we had no problem going to our room in bathing suits, sand, & all. We always got clean towels when requested. The room was great, very updated, but the beds were a little hard. And if you plan on using the free internet, be prepared to sit there for a while (there’s a reason it’s free!). The balcony was great, we could see everything, including the ocean. Overall it was a really great stay and if I were to stay in Hollywood again I would definitely stay there.

If you want to do a lot of things, plan on renting a car. Florida is BIG and nothing is close by. If you just plan on laying on the beach most of your stay then it’s ok, but we rented a car, it was a must for our trip. Especially if you don’t want to pay a lot of money for food, everything local was a bit pricey.

Beautiful!

The revamp of this old Howard Johnson is remarkable! The interior is beautifully done with dark woods & a tropical design! Our bathroom was nicely done with a roomy all marble shower! Beds were comfy! The restaurant was fabulous! The only slight negative thought was the small pool. But, from what we saw walking the boardwalk, small pools are the norm! Hey, your on the Beach right? Directly on the beach in fact! Free fruit in the lobby, and a Starbuck’s? Perfect!

Don’t waste your time going to the nearbye Hard Rock Casino! $50.00 round trip with a cab? (an old smelly cab!) No roulette, no craps! Unless you love video poker & slots, stay at the beach!

Great place

My trip was part business and part vacation..The Hotel’s ameniies were great, as well as the staff. The room was cleaned to perfection, daily.. The restaurant was clean, reasonable, and service was friendly... I especially, enjoyed the location. Right on the beach, access to I-95 was within a few minutes drive. My intent was to spend time on the beach, and not in the pool, which I did. Oh, since I booked ahead, there was free covered parking..

If you are looking for a wham bam night life, be willing to leave the hotel.. However, there is the Tiki bar with live music right there too.. Great place to relax.

Great Beach Location

We enjoyed our stay at this Marriott. Great beach and pool area. Hotel staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was okay--a little over-priced. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants that are located directly on the Broadwalk.

Way below Marriott’s standards. AVOID by all means.

I have stayed in MANY Marriott hotels in different parts of the world.This one is a shame. We were lured by great reviews, free parking, breakfast promotion offer and walking distance to the ocean...so we booked (30 days prior vacation dates) a room with KING size bed for 5 nights at this Marriott Hollywood Beach hotel. Upon arrival there were NO king size beds available. SURPRISE for a couple who planned to spent romantic time - we got full size beds room with no explanation or apologies.The air-conditioning was probably designed in mid 50s and that thing was LOUD. We woke up each time that monster turned in or off. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is terrible. The glass door that leads from the main lobby to the beach entrance has more germs and stains than you can ever imagine. The pool is small and DIRTY with human hair floating. The hotel staff DOES NEED A TRAINING PROGRAM as to how to treat customers. These people have attitude, God knows why.Our last vacation was in Hawaii and it was a pleasure. I’m wondering if this hotel has the right to be called Marriott at all...if it is, then something really bad is going on with this brand. Folks from corporate governance at Marriott, check this venue up. You will be unpleasantly surprised.

You need to rent a car if you need to go anywhere. Casino with great restaurants and decent nightclubs is only 15 min by car.

The hotel itself was nice. It is located on the boardwalk and is right on the beach, But it is NOT beach friendly, they dont ALLOW you walking through the hotel to your ROOM without shirts and shorts, your not even aloud to wear your bathing suit top with a skirt? I think this is extremly not right for being located right on the beach and for having a pool. Also we were told we would have ocean view but we could barely see the ocean at all. It was not ocean view. I didnt go into the pool but i know it was small. The room itself was nice and comfy though... One more complaint, the internet in the room -only ONE computer can be signed on per room because they use a cable, very inconvient!!! oh, and i didnt see any vending machines!

I wont be staying there again just because its not beach friendly...its hard to enjoy your stay at a beach when the hotel is stubborn about beach wear!

Great Stay!

The hotel was very nice. It seems to attract a lot of families so if you are trying to avoid kids, avoid this hotel. Hollywood is more of a family beach anyway. Our room had a partial ocean view and the bed very high but very comfortable. The well-appointed bathroom had a nice big shower. Our package included a free breakfast buffet for our entire stay and there is ample free parking so there is no need to valet. Overall, we had an ejoyable trip and staying in Hollywood saved ua a bunch of money.

There is not much going on at the beach at night, so if you are looking for something to do, check out Young Circle. It’s about 15 minutes west of the beach on Hollywood Blvd. There are a few restaurants and bars all on one strip. If you are really looking for a party, head to South Beach which is about a 30 minute drive. The Seminole Hard Rock Casino is only about 15 minutes away also.

Relaxing

I like this hotel for the following reasons: 1. Beautiful boardwalk just outside the door. You can a walk for miles, rent a bicycle, jog, rollerblade, etc down the boardwalk. 2. Cross the boardwalk you you are on the beach. There are nice palm trees all along the beach/boardwalk which looks nice. 3. The hotel breakfast are great with cook to order omlets, fresh fruit, and many other choices. 4. The hotel has it own parking ramp so there is no worrying about finding a parking space. 5. The rooms are nice with quality beds and a larger flat screen TV. 6. Short easy drive to the airport.

Walking to the south down the boardwalk are many restaurants overlooking the beach/boardwalk. (we didn’t walk to the north so there may be more in that direction also).

Very good hotel

My summary of this hotel is "value for money", you get very nice rooms and a really good service for a fair price. Access to the beach is great. Good for family vacations. Very quiet place.

Great place for a long weekend

Great updated hotel in an older area. We loved going to the beach during the day and walking the boardwalk at night - and it was great to come back to a comfortable, nice hotel. The area as a whole is unique - lots of character (...and characters...) Perfect for a long weekend but probably not my favorite spot for an extended vacation. Most of the shops and cafes along the beach were withing walking distance. The boardwalk is beautiful. All of the cafes are extremely casual (great views!) - we really had to do some research to find even a mid-scale sit-down restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. But I couldn’t care less - I’ll eat anywhere and do anything as long as I have a nice place to sleep, and the Marriott was just that!

Do Not Sleep on this Hotel

This hotel is Hollywood’s best kept secret. This hotel is located by the ocean. The Broadwalk is wonderful place to get your walk or run on. My package included breakfst and we were not disappointed. The selection for the buffet stays the same but thier is a variety. The dinner is a little pricy but you can walk down the broadwalk to eat at some of the local restaurants. We ate the Nicks bar and grill and had the best Calamari. You truly will not be disappointed
