Much better than expected
We stayed in a family suite, which was two very large connected rooms, wonderfully decorated, and with spectacular views. The initial appearance of the Chateau was less opulent than we had anticipated, but the interior was a wonderful surprise. Furnished and decorated with exceptional taste. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We particular enjoyed the dinners, which were family style with the hosts and guest all seated around one big table. After the first dinner, my girls would not go anywhere else. Conversation and wine flowed, and the food as delicious. The location is wonderful, in the mountains of Cantal, and its ideal for sightseeing, hiking and biking. We truly loved our stay, and are already trying to figure out how to get back. We would particularly recommend this for active families who would like to be somewhat indulged and enjoy the taste of real France.
Ideal for families, as this is one of the few places in Europe that can accommodate families larger than 3. They provide real suites, with double large rooms. The location very convenient for hiking and biking, and other excursions (like Via Ferrate and Canyoning). The area, according to my husband, is "Frances best kept secret." Beautiful green mountains and vies, with many options for hiking. There is also a lot of family friendly places for sightseeing.
