A great deal1
We booked this hotel since it has several natural mineral pools, yet it was quite inexpensive (through expedia) in comparison to other mineral springs hotels. It is a family place, so the pool area is not as quiet as adult spas. However, it was pretty and clean. The pool area is open 24 hours and practically empty at night. On an autumn weekday at noon, there were a few other adults and a few families, so it was still fairly quiet. Our standard room was big, nice and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We liked the private balcony even though it had a ground floor view of the parking lot. The restaurant had great prices and our brunch was very good - not gourmet, but tasty. Wed definitely stay here again!

Nice for families and kid friendly - but location not so great.
This hotel is a good spot for families especially if you have young kids. The service was good and room was clean. We enjoyed the late night hours in the pool and mineral spa/jacuzzi - thats a plus - though it doesnt really feel like hot springs - more like a regular jacuzzi. The decor and overall feel of this hotel is like a Holiday Inn - nothing special here - but staff is friendly. We didnt try any of the spa treatments but the restaurant was good for breakfast and service was fine. I wouldnt recommend this for couples looking for romance - there are alot nicer and more romantic spots over in Palm Springs just about 10 minutes away. But the kiddies will LOVE the 6 different pools.
Desert Hot Springs is like the local residence area with a Kmart and lots of inexpensive basic shopping etc - there is a GREAT small Korean Restaurant called Palm Korea right in DHP. Note - if you are a Mid-Century buff looking for the Lautner Motel - good luck - most of the locals have never heard of it and we had to earch and search until we finally found it hidden away in a residential area way back behind one of the country clubs. For an architectural landmark it is way off the main route.
