Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka

Perfect end to an awesome trip

Staying in this hotel was the perfect conclusion to an amazing journey across japan. Situated right by the subway station, I came off the train and was literally about 50 yards from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, and japanese oddity within walking distance. The room was THE most comfortable hotel room i’ve stayed in while overseas and the lounge/bar was supremely classy. The shuttle in the morning to the airport was the most convenient amenity EVER. Highly recommend this place.

Great Hotel, Great people!

This was a last minute trip! We loved it although short! There is the access to the metro and JR lines which makes traveling through Japan very easy and comfortable! The Hotel Personnel were friendly, almost to a fault!

Great location for seeing Osaka

The hotel was simple to get to from the major train stations. It required a couple of train and subway changes, but all were easy to make. The hotel itself was clean and very nicely appointed. We would highly recommend it.

Nice Hotel

Spacious room, very nice amenities, however the concierge should be more helpful. When we asked for the way to Dotonbori (which is well-known), the staff gave an confusing answers. But overall, we would recommend this hotel

Trip to Japan

We were very satisfied with the hotel and enjoyed our stay. The only drawback all over Japan is very firm beds. Too firm for us. Therefore, we do not plan a return trip to Japan.

Stay in August 2008

Quality hotel in very good condition. Rooms big enough bearing in mind this is Japan. However i would point out a couple of issues: 1 - being a Sheraton the traveller should expect a much better command of English by hotel staff 2 - location maybe good to visit Osaka. If you intend to use Osaka as a base to travel by train around the region (Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, ...) then this is not your place (need to invest 40-50 mins to commute to the right train station). Instead you should search a hotel close to Osaka station, or even better, to Shinosaka station.

Surprisingly nice!

We only stayed for one night, but the room was clean and the staff courteous and attentive. When we checked in we requested extra towels and pillows and they arrived within 15 minutes. We had an early morning flight out of Itami Airport and were able to make it to the airport by walking 2 minutes away from the hotel to the convenient airport shuttle pickup. This made traveling with our two very sleepy kids, 8 and 5, much easier. Would definitely use this hotel again!

Nice

The hotel was nice, neat, and clean. The room size was generous compared to other hotels in Japan. The beds were the hardest beds we’ve slept on even at other Japanese hotels.They were very uncomfortable. The air conditioner was very loud and even on high did not cool the room enough. Other hotels we stayed at in Japan allowed you to set the temperature for the AC. This one only had high and low.

Traveler's tip on dining

I don’t remember the name of it, but there is a Japanese restaurant across the street on the 2nd floor of a strip mall that was excellent. It had authentic Japanese and also some American type food. The prices were very reasonable too so that you could try a variety of items.

GOOD HOTEL OVERALL

Room was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Restaurants are good, but expensive (as you might expect at most hotels). Free Internet connectivity in rooms is a plus, and the hotel is in close proximity (access through basement) to the Sennrichimae and other subway lines. There is also a train station next door (I believe it is one of the Hankyu lines). Overall, quite a nice hotel. 4 stars.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Although the hotel is located is more of a suburban setting, there are many reasonably priced cafes and convenience stores in the area, so don’t feel compelled to eat strictly at the hotel.

Go for the Deli!

This hotel is right over the subway station so it is extremely convenient for traveling about. The service was great. They spoke English pretty well. They have currency converting machines in the lobby, lots of restaurants, but the best is the Deli in the basement. Tons of fresh cooked foods and few sitdown restaurants, a whole floor of sweets. Kinda pricey, but so nice.

Great hotel, excellent value

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel (it was a Radisson the last time I stayed). The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, updating the rooms. We stayed in one of the new rooms. The furniture was much nicer and beds comfortable. The room was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel room. It had high-speed interent in the room (via a cable) and a reasonably large desk to work at. The service was up to the typically high Japanese standards. The hotel is located near a subway hub, so getting around Osaka was very convenient. I would definately stay here again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Friday is "No my car" day in Osaka, so subway day passes are discounted to 600 yen (from 850). So, if you are planning a day in Osaka during your vacation, it’s a bit cheaper to get around if you do it on a Friday.

Would definitely recommend this hotel

Found the hotel to be pretty easy to find given its location right next to a subway station. I was very surprised at the elegance of the hotel, and the size of the room, given the price. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me find baseball tickets. When I return to Osaka, this hotel will be my number one choice.

Plush!

So convenient - subway below and an airport bus that leaves from the hotel. A very Western hotel experience in all amenities and service. Hotel staff spoke excellent English and bent over backwards to make sure things were just so. Highly recommended if you want a non-Japanese-style lodging experience in the heart of Osaka.

Can’t beat this hotel for public transportation convenience.

Hotel sits right on top of a train station. 5 minutes walk from subway. Airport bus stops here every 20-30 minutes. Major department store next door. Room was heated too warmly while I was there (last week of March).
