A good, affordable place to stay

Aside from noisy people above and beside the room (it WAS a Friday night), I would recommend this as a place to stay; a reasonable alternative to overpriced places in Pismo Beach.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Pismo Beach and Grover Beach are within minutes driving. There are plenty of good restaurants too.

Clean

My room was spotless, and the hotel was conveniently located to a grocery store and starbucks less than one mile away. I would stay there again in a light second.

Second and last stay here. Rooms need major renovation -- super dirty. Extremely noisy, especially with people above you. Smokers sit outside their rooms meaning you have to run the gauntlet to get to yours. Not worth the money

The room we had was very large, beds were great, will definately stay here again.

Breakfast offerings were sub-par compared with Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, etc.

Nice Inn, Nice Location, Nice Price

We found our accomodations were wonderful for the price that we paid. The location was close to Pismo Beach. We were fifteen minutes from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo so my kids could check out the college. They had a nice continental breakfast included in the room price. They also provided cookies and snacks in the lobby in the afternoon. The hotel was very clean and the rooms did not smell like smoke. Although we didn’t have time to swim, the pool looked very inviting. I will stay here again for vacation.

Home away from home

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay that is also affordable this hotel is the place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable! We would rather stay at Best Western in Arroyo Grande and drive the couple of minutes to Pismo Beach as opposed to staying at Pismo Beach!

Convenient

Lobby was lovely with good tea but the one computer was extremely slow-totally impractical to use.Staff friendly and helpful.Elevator very smelly-staff said that it was the cleaning solution, but I had to hold my breath while in it.Breakfast had much less choices than last year-sugary cereal, but good hot packaged cereal to use with hot water.Very little fruit. Had to tell 6 staff members in the back who were loudly laughing and speaking Spanish to quiet down so we could enjoy our breakfast in peace. Room was very large, but dark.I liked the 2 sinks outside the bathroom-very practical.

Enjoyable stay

I had no expectations, but found the buildings and grounds aesthetically pleasing, nice amenities, and comfortable room.

Basic Motel

Basic motel. Good access to beach cities and San Luis Obispo. Reminiscent of a 60s -70s motel with moderately upgraded interior and fixtures in rooms. No wireless or in room internet. Continental breakfast consisted of packaged rolls and pastries with yogurt and cereal. Room had exterior window to parking lot and very dark inside.

Pismo Beach Hotel

Hotel was at a nice location where so many tourist’s places can be reached easily. I like the shower stand and the shower as I prefer a shower with stronger water pressure.

Familiar and comfortable

We stayed at the hotel for only one night but had the chance to rest at the pool after a long days driving. The room was spacious, the WiFi at the reception was fast eneough and the breakfast was varied so also the children found something suitable. All in all, it was a nice stay.

Not enough parking/Great price

Returning to the hotel in the evening it was tough to find a parking space. I parked in a walkway. However, the cost of the room was very economical.

I thought the hotel was clean and very comfortable. My only complaint is that I found the staff to be lacking in friendliness. They were not rude but I thought they could be more friendly.

This hotel was great, clean, comfortable, parking got a bit crowded if you returned late at night. There was a large family reunion being held while we were there, that made the outside areas a bit loud with shouting. Fortunately, inside the rooms the shouting was kept out.

We love the Splash Cafe down by the Pier and the Great American Melodrama for regular nightly activities.

Great place to stay on central coast

Double queen rooms are the way to go. Nice and large. King rooms are comfortable but a little on the small side. All rooms have refrigerators, and there is free coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7. People are very nice and the staff is very accommodating. Swimming pool is lovely and there is a hot tub (lots of chlorine) too. The continental breakfast is adequate and the staff there’s nice as well. All in all, this is a great place to stay, just a couple of easy miles from the ocean - a real find.

When you’re coming from the East and are up at 5am anyway, get in your car at dawn and drive to the beach. At the Pier at Pismo, you can watch the early morning surfers through the morning fog, and hang out with the sea birds and pigeons. Avila is a great place to walk on the beach. In between are other spots where the morning mist is positively mystical, and kids love it.

Perfect for our weekend getaway

This hotel was everything the reviews told us it would be. It was close enough to Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo but without the expensive room rates. It was a comfortable room, although the walls were very thin and we could hear EVERYTHING. But we would definately stay here again for a little weekend getaway. We thought parking would be a problem as we read in previous reviews but we had no trouble at all.

Travel north on the freeway about two exists to Huckleberry’s for brunch...GREAT food!
