Very Comfortable and Clean - and Centrally Located Too
My family used the hotel for one night as a transition point during a 3-week vacation. The hotel is very centrally located in Montpellier - in the Antigone district. It is just a short walk from the train station and right next door to a nice shopping center. Our room was good-sized, very clean, nicely appointed and comfortable. The swimming pool was a nice distraction from the heat for our kids and the staff was especially accommodating.

Only Place to Stay in Montpellier
The Hotel Sofitel is located in the Antigone area of Montpellier, just off the Place de la Comedie. The hotel is very conveninent to the Polygone shopping mall and the main square of the city. The tram runs right by as well. The rooms in the Sofitel are decorated in French blue and yellow with the signature Sofitel "MyBed" that is a cocoon of down feathers that I had trouble getting out of each morning. The hotel has a small pool on the roof, but it is unheated, so only usable in the summer. The pool deck is a great place to spend the afternoon in the sunshine though. The restaurant can be missed as the food is supposed to be gourmet, but is strange and not good quality. The beds really are amazing.
